I could google it, but what is Columbia Basin? I assume small local CC? Not a dig, most here never played any level of college ball, so a serious question. But good on ya, mate, for continuing to play. I played with a bunch of people in a couple rec leagues after HS, when I was in by far the best shape of my life. I was more motivated after HS, simply cuz I missed the comraderie, team spirit, etc. So that's awesome.
At the NBA level, I'm not sure "team" is a part of most players' vocabularies. There are exceptions - and I still cling to the hope Dame is one of them. Most players, however, are heartless, soulless mercenaries.
Thanks bro. I took a year off after high school and I never realized how much I missed the team aspect of it. It's a CC three hours away from Portland. The talent level consists of basically the best high school players from surrounding areas with some players that could've played D1/D2 but didn't pull the grades. It feels like you're playing legit basketball when every team has a 6'9 or so big man with athletes that can throw down on you like it's nothing.
I can see @BlazerCaravan being the Schonz of D&D, "You've got... to make... your dice rolls!" (I'm just messin' with you BC. You know I love you.)
I disagree. The defense was improved with the added depth, but the offense wasn't nearly the well-oiled machine it was a year earlier. As has already been pointed out, the team was already struggling before Wes went down, with the 20 games before and 20 games after being about the same record. Bingo. Something was brewing below the surface, but a team full of nice guys managed to keep it quiet. I imagine Olshey knew the team was being blown up well before LMA's decision, and that's how he was prepared to pounce so quickly on high value pieces in free agency. Is that Sonny Long's kid?
Um... No... and I'm not sure what your issue is. This is one of the rudest posts that I've read in awhile. Bones was alluding to the difference of being on a team of selfish people as opposed to being on an actual team where people have your back. Uncle cliffy is right, don't be a dick...
Yeah ritght? FOr a team that we thought was so tight, in bed with each other... they sure moved on easily. I am starting to think that Stotts and NO did a masterful job of covering up some internal discontent within the locker room that the media and public never really got a view point of. If this is the case... even more respect for them. Shows how truly savy they are. Right guys? Kings has been spot on with this. We are better last year even if we might not get the same win mark. I know King thinks we will get more. We are better though, because we have a ton more upside. We will be legit playoff contenders next year with the right trade/offseason moves and a contender for the title a year after that when the team is completely gelled. Looks like NO took a page out of the Timberwolves "How to build a contender" book. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA NOT! Fuck tanking for thre lotto. . Done them an absolutely fabulous job!@!! HAHHA SO.......... who still thinks we should be tanking for a lotto? Curious.
