That was the most pathetic quarter of Blazer basketball I've ever seen in my life. I can't figure out if this team is good, or the pathetic team everyone thought they would be. Detroit closes out the game on a 32-4 run. WTF. How do you collapse like that? They couldn't box out, kept making stupid turnovers, couldn't hit a shot.
We had a 18 point lead in the 4th anded eded up losing this game by 17 fucking points. 42-11 run. That is a meltdown of epic proportions. And this is the 2nd time we've seen this, because they blew a 35 point lead in the pre-season.
It was one quarter. Yeah it was fucking terrible, but it's still just one quarter and one loss. I bet we thrash Denver tomorrow.
Stotts didn't adjust. Every time we ran the pick and roll, they would trap Dame. This forced the ball into the hands of Aminu/Meyers/Plumlee. Turnover city. The Pistons are a good team and they cranked up the defense.
Not they are young and will have nights like against Memphis where they play awesome and nights like tonight where growing pains are evident?
Words fail me. The other shoe dropped, the entire hovel collapsed, and the infant of hope was brutally mangled in its crib.
Meh it's most likely teams catching up on tape. We're an ok team and I think we're on the right path but there's going to be tons more games like this where u scratch ur head and wonder what the hell happened.
No, that wasn't just a bad quarter, that must have been the worst quarter in franchise history. Remember the biggest one quarter beat down we ever delivered to a team was 49-19 vs San Antonio. Detroit closed out the game with an even wider margin. The Blazers just showed how weak-minded they are, to let a team steamroll them like that in the 4th quarter. I really thought this team had more balls than that.
I sure hope there are no more games like this. I know we're going to lose, but to control a game, then let a team go on a 40 point swing on you. Just pathetic.
Maybe they knew LMA was coming into town soon so they dropped all there balls this game knowing that?
The next 5-8 games will be pretty telling. This kind of night was going to happen eventually, now it's seeing the adjustments from not only us, but the teams that see that this defense works... One of my worries is the rigidity of Terry Stotts in his playbook and lack of showing he can adjust on the fly.
Pathetic yes, demoralizing no. This is a young team who are learning...sometimes you have to learn the hard way...tonight was one of those times. It's how they respond that matters...come back tomorrow and take it out on Denver
