Um....sorry, but I just couldn't sit back any longer and "listen" to some of this (imo) Monday morning QB hogwash....forgive me, here goes. Simmons - terrific defensive SS. Gregorius - same BA, more HRs and RBI, (with less AB) ....and a higher OPS. Both stole 5/8 bases- 2015 Simmons - will be paid 6 mil, 8 mil then be owed 39 mil more. Gregorius - was paid 553K in 2015 As I said, Simmons is a terrific defensive SS.....but Didi is pretty good and made about 3 errors after (June) a rough start getting his feet wet as an everyday SS. He came along in flying colors with the bat and glove. Not sure if the Yanks could've gotten Simmons by giving up Shane Greene. One last small item...Didi is actually younger. That's all.
Deals or steals? Aybar is a pretty fair all around SS ....and when does Andrelton get inducted into the HOF?...... The beat goes on. Instead of the usual 5-6 members of this Board Majority....I would really like to poll some other "baseball people"/GMs in private, and ask them to rank all MLB SS according to their overall 2015 performance, offense/defense, age and salary...and make their picks going forward from here and now. Lol Forgive me....but for all the intelligence and wordly experience I see on this board....I also see some less than sophisticated baseball knowledge and thought process when it comes to our Yanks.....but I DO understand- there is a condition of mass prejudice and blind hatred towards Cashman and ownership which is slanting judgements and impairing any hope of clear thinking. Prejudice and bias are indeed bad things. I can see how it effects thinking and judgement on a mere "Sports Forum"......but I also know we are ALL entitled to our opinions....including me.
