Great. Not only do the Blazers have to play a team coming off a team meeting, but an interim coach who players always ball out for during the coaches' first week. Also, McHale was holding them back. If they get Thibs ... watch out.

Shit. I was hoping they'd milk that incompetence for a couple more years.

I would never want McHale as head coach (or even lead assistant for that matter) but he would make a great Big Man's coach. Doubt he would take a position doing that right away though. He still gets paid for at least 2 years of sitting on his butt.

I don't want any part of McHale here with the Blazers

I'd rather have this McHale and assistant:

McHale can barely walk. I'm all for hiring the handicapped, but shouldn't a big man coach be able to get out on the court and teach a bit?

Thibs is getting paid a fortune to not work, if he took this job, he'd forfeit a chunk of change I think

He could sign a $1 contract. The Bulls owe him the difference.

    I WANT THIBS!!

dammit, i hope those scumbags rockets won't pick him up!

You can say what you want about McHale, but he is the one who molded the Rockets into the flopping, cheap, dirty and thus successful team that they were.

I'm very sorry to hear this news. Kevin McHale was one of my favorite NBA coaches. I give him a lot of credit for our series victory of the Rockets two years ago. I can only hope that another Western Conference contender hires him soon.

I've never been a McHale fan..admired his playing career though. I think it'd be tough to be a young center with him as a coach...he tells you what he used to do when he played, then you look at him barely able to get out of a chair....first thought...think I'll take it easy on that post banging thing or I'll look like him someday
