We used to enjoy going to Country Cat which made the list. Their bacon braised collard greens and fried chicken was pretty tasty. Don't know if that is still a common entrée on their menu or not.

It's in no way the best pizza in Portland, but I have a soft spot for old town. Been going there since I was a wee one - ordering the artichoke heart & pepperocini. I haven't been to any of those 5, I'll have to check them out. I do love a good slice!

The wife and I went to Old Town about a year ago for the first time on forever. It wasn't too bad for "old school" pizza. Another place that is right up there with Apizza, Nostrana, et al, is Life Of Pie on N. Williams. It's open earlier than the other places and has some great happy hour specials. And happy hour starts at 11:00.....

If you want a good slice, ny style, you can also try babydoll pizza on stark. Open real late too, so a great place to end the night when you need something greasy after a night of drinking.

I hit up Olympia Provisions last weekend. Pretty solid, just got their charcuterie plate, cheese plate, sandwhich and biscuits/gravy.

You missed Renata, which is considered by many to be Portland's #1 restaurant, and among the best new restaurants in America in 2015. And MEC (Mediterranean Exploration Company in the Pearl).

Renata looks a bit boring for modern italian. I'll give it a thought but I'm eating at Scarpetta next month.

MEC looks like my kind of shit, I am in a middle eastern kick..love that shit. Maybe I'll go on Saturday there or kascka.

If you skip Renata, you are clearly hipster thinking you're too good. Renata and their various pastas are ridiculous. Everyone is calling it PDX's best, even national critics. It's heating up.... Like NBA Jam.

The Bucatini al’Amatriciana looks interesting. I've yelp bookmarked it. Is it hard to get a rez?
