Logically this makes sense. However, because of those things we have and could never experience I don't care if he says things that seem fucked up.

Example. ..... Late model Hondas have some kind of sticky goo adhesive holding the inner door moisture barrier to the door shell. You will never see it unless you take the door apart. Well, it sticks to everthing and makes a huge mess.

I say the most racist things against the engineers that put this shit there when I work on them. I wish them all death and that includes their families.

Am I serious? No, but I'm just talking about something that irritates me.

I think being discriminated against every day of your life might be a better reason to have such feelings.

    Good Post UCD!

But let me assure you, we are not slipping to the conservative. When I moved from Oregon in the mid 70s, we had a Republican Governor, a great guy in Tom McCall and
a Republican legislature. Life was good! Since I moved back, down hill. It's all in memory now, the image is vanishing as time marches on. The slide you refer to, from my view, is tilting way to the left. But it is about to drop off the cliff, when they pass a carbon tax, cap and trade here in Oregon, probably February.

Hmmm....you said it went down hill when you moved back.....could it be connected? Just kidding....kinda....and I agree that the Portland metro area and the upper valley are very liberal. But the rest of the state is nowhere near that. And I was talking about the country as a whole tilting to the right. We just happen to be a liberal outpost. It's why I love Oregon...but why I'm also feeling alienated.....

Ah! I see. Yes, I think the country as a whole is about to make a right turn, there are so many pissed off people, it is like a blinking turn signal. I will be pleased, to bad you can't rejoice too.

The jews need not feel bad, the Christians ripped off Christmas, from my pagan ancestor's Festival of Alban Arthuan, or Yule. They needed to spice up the event.

No way any of those people would be elected as republicans today. They'd be considered far too liberal.

Oh well, perhaps the low point. I loved the sign on the State line heading north. Welcome to Oregon, enjoy your visit but don't stay.

But you're comparing McCall of the 60's and 70's to Republicans of today, and implying that it's the lefts fault or something.

barfo is saying that McCall would be way too liberal to be considered a Republican of today. Kate Brown has nothing to do with anything at all relevant tot his discussion. But good try.

A Republican like Vic Atiyeh would be too liberal for conservative voters in this day and age....

Not relevant? umm seems to me I brought up both of these people. It doesn't make any sense that McCall would be too liberal to win. Between him and Brown, I vote McCall.
So I don't get where you or barfo get your idea. McCall would be way less liberal than Brown so he should win in a landslide, all the republicans, all the independents and the smart democrats.

When you run as a Republican, people know you are an American. They may ask or wonder if you really are a conservative but no more.

Might have to drop the rug store though.

His parents were Syrian Muslim immigrants, they set up a business that had dealings with Muslim countries.

Well, to be honest, I didn't know he ran a rug store until after the Governor gig was over.
