If you think someone was killed unjustly by police, by all means protest. But don't set your town on fire and destroy things, and call for cops to be murdered. Also don't pretend like your race is being targeted by police. It would also be good to let some evidence come out PRIOR to protesting.

 

Ha. Ever heard of Japanese internment camps? You don't see Asian people running around murdering people and blaming it on things that happened in the 40s. Asians had quite a lot of racism directed at them, but they aren't stuckin the past.

Well, "long ago" is all relative. But society can and has changed quite drastically since that time. And you can blame everything on slavery or jim crow laws, but it's not like blacks were the only people dealing with hardship. The nation as a whole went through several wars, the great depression, terrible poverty. And Blacks like they were the only ones that suffered while the rest of the world was born with silver spoons in their mouths. You have to move forward and stop blaming prior generations for your failures.

I think knowing history is really important, and acknowledge what happened etc. But to go around being angry today because of things that happened in prior generations is foolish. Then act like the world owes you something because of it.
