No back to backs. 4 of the opponents are sub .500. This is where I win my bet with HCP and UncleTy and this is where we turn the season around if we are to make a serious push for playoffs.
So tons of home games against sub .500 teams is what it takes to make this team win? Not exactly jumping a high bar there. At this point they are 1/2 a game out of the #4 Lottery position. I'd much rather take a shot at getting Simmons, Ingram, Bender or Brown then fight and claw just to get the #10-14 Draft pick or possible even make the playoffs only to be cannon fodder to the Warriors. One of those paths makes the Blazers much better next season, one does not. You get a little luck and add a Ben Simmons to Dame and Co and all of a sudden your shot at adding a decent FA goes up. People will want to play with both of those players.
It's definitely a perilous position to be in, that's for sure. Next years draft is going to set the stage for the next 5-10 years... if we miss on it, it could set us back for a long time... Dame is an all-star level talent... CJ can hold his own... then from there... what?
I like the idea us sucking for Simmons. My brother has not been to a game where the Blazers won in 7 years, and he has gone to quiet a few. I think it might be time to gift my brother a month of tickets to Blazer games.
