I know he has good numbers and is one of the better player on that terrible 6ers team but don't remember exactly how he's like. What's his position, don't remember seeing him play much at all.

Tall, athletic, rangy left-handed point or combo guard. Not an outside shooter but can get to the rim and finish with authority or creativity, although he sometimes doesn't look smooth doing it. Kind of Will Barton-ish, in some way, IIRC, except he's more notable for his ballhandling than his scoring outbursts.

He's Brandon Roy minus the outside shooting, clutchness, smoothness, and a big contract that may or may not be covered by insurance. His complexion is a little darker and he has better knees but worse ACL's. And he's lefty as opposed to righty. Basically, he went to UofW.

So he's bigger than Frazier but not as good a playmaker. Not a natural PG but has good PG skills for his size. Can get points but not a good shooter. Can create for others? Start an offense?

I think he's more of a PG and a better playmaker than Frazier for sure.

Much better playmaker than Frazier, slashes and shoots or dishes. Comparison to Will Barton is close.

I'd say better playmaker than Frazier. Aside from Frazier being healthier and Lillard's friend, I don't see anything that he isn't much inferior to Wroten.

Wroten is a Barton whose craziness is more geared to dribbling, driving and passing creativity than shooting.

He went to high school in Seattle ------> he sucks

He went to college in Seattle ------> he sucks

Memphis drafted him #25 ------> he sucks

After only 1 season, Memphis gave him to Philadelphia for free ------> he sucks

To be precise, it was for a protected 2014 #2 which they knew would end up protected, so it was for free ------> he sucks

As shown below, our chances of getting him are 1 out of 10 ------> he sucks

1 out of 10? How do you come up with that?

"Wroten will now be placed on waivers and teams will have until 5:00 p.m. on December 26 to claim him. Ten teams, including the Portland Trail Blazers, have enough cap space or a trade exception large enough to claim Wroten. Any team claiming him will then take on the remainder of his $2.2 million contract. If more than one team claims Wroten the team with the worse record will have priority. Of the teams capable of taking on his contract, only Brooklyn has a worse record than the Blazers"

Although Looking at the Nets depth Chart at PG, I would assume they would jump all over it.

No brainer really. Won't hurt our cap space much and if he is no good then no harm.

Yes, that's how we got Hickson. We had the worst record of the teams who wanted him. But hey, it looked good in my list of reasons, so I included it.

He cleared waivers, I actually thought we would place a bid on him.

Couple of possibilities: Blazers see no long term benefit in marginally upgrading talent, with mediocre talent that doesn't help us long term, and if healthy could jeopardize long term success with short term gratification; Or maybe he isn't healthy. After all, no other team picked up this free nugget of gold either. Shouldn't that indicate something? I'm betting Olshey and his team have a better handle on the situation than anyone here.

I think you are right regarding long term benefits. I still would have taken the chance on him, but if he did not get many minutes as the 4th guard behind Dame, CJ and Crabbe. he probably would not have been happy and would not have re-signed this summer. At this point in his career, I am sure Wroten sees himself as a starter, not as a 10-20 minutes a night back up. Too bad because I would love to have him on our bench.

He was drafted only #25, then Memphis gave him to Philadelphia for free, then the worst team in the league cut him, then no team picked him up, and you say that...he'll be unhappy unless he starts? Where, in the D-League?

I'm surprised a team on the playoff bubble wouldn't take him
