1/27/12 vs. Phoenix, recorded a season-high 10 assists. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jamal_crawford/bio/
Per 36 would help him out more. What is his per 36 that year in assists vs CJ this year? I will look as well but you might get it before me.
CJ is averaging 4.3. But still, they are similar players who can play point and show flashes of success there but they are not point guards.
Found PER 36 for both. They are actually tied. So props to you. Me eye test tells me who I would much rather having run the point (if need be).
Crawford's per 36 was 4.3 assists with Portland. CJ is averaging 4.3 assists this season. Creepy.......
More creepy numbers from Crawford's season with us compared to CJ this year: CJ usage% - 26.4 Crawford usage% - 26.6 CJ assist% - 20.5% Crawford assist% - 21.6% CJ is a vastly better shooter though, so in that regard I would MUCH rather have him taking shots. CJ - 44% FG, 39% from three, 53% true shooting percentage. Crawford - 38% FG, 31% from three, 50.6% true shooting
Back to the topic..... He has surprised me and I now see him as a combo guard instead of strictly a really good SG. So now we have two really good combo guards. (Not ideal, but pretty damn good) I see no reason not to lock up our current trio of Dame, CJ, and Crabbe. Now finding the 4th guard to compliment these three will need another thread. Maybe next summer.
So hed use a bunch of clock, thus slowing down the game meaning less possessions and we might still lead the league in scoring.. You realize that means our offense would be insanely efficient, thus a good thing? Just saying.
4th guard you say? Http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=heu47o5 Getting rid of two unwanted contracts would be the start of a rebuild for PHX. Bledsoes value is down and he didn't fit well next to Knight. He'd be dynamite off the bench.
Except, I think Phoenix would rather say, Knight didnt fit will with Bledsoe and look to move Knight before Bledsoe.
Also, do we really want Morris after he showed he can have major dependency issues regarding his brother?
For a 4th guard I was thinking more along the lines of someone who will be happy playing inconsistent minutes. Someone like Frazier, but better. Maybe an elite athlete, with handles, who is a lockdown defender. But can't shoot. (Because if he can do all those other things and shoot.....everyone will want him) I am thinking someone content getting 10-12 minutes a game, but will be ready when injuries occur.
Sure CJ could be "the PG". Provided our real PG was at the SF position. You know, someone like this guy:
Did you look at the trade? Henderson and Markieff go to Detroit (Morris brothers reunite, Detroit needs a backup SG). We get back Steve Blake (lol), Bledsoe, while taking on Chandlers contract.
