Having 2 guards that are in the top 5 at their position is redundant. Having 2 good leaders is redundant. Having 2 guys that can light the scoreboard on fire is redundant. Hmmmm I like redundancy. How's it a negative?
Cp3 Westbrook Steph Lowry Lillard After the top 3 there are 7 to 8 that seemed to be lumped. Kyrie/lillard/lowery/wall/conley/jackson/rondo off the top of my head. Everyone is going to have 4/5 different from everyone else, if I had given it more thought id have used Kyrie instead of Wall as an example.
Houston used the pick from the Lowry trade as one of the main assets for acquiring Harden. OKC used the pick on Steven Adams.
The funny thing is that I think they would have gotten further with Lowry in the playoffs than they have with Harden.
I'm going with yuyuza's answer for short: And Dame is stronger, gets to the rim better, has a strong court presence, demands the full attention of the defense, and has proven it over a longer period of time. Unlike some others, I don't see the two as redundant, I see them as complimentary. Having both is a great "problem" to have.
Based on your list, I'd say Wall is 4th best. (I'd shuffle the order of the top-3, though.) Health makes Irving and Rose a tough call, but I think Irving still deserves to be on the top-5 bubble, ever so slightly ahead of Lillard. I'd move Lowry down a notch, with Jackson, Bledsoe, Conley, etc. Lots of good choices either way. I was just wondering why you would dismiss Wall after "a split second" of pondering.
the list of 5 I put out weren't in order. Wall was just the first name the popped into my head, probably because I had just put in a trade request for him in fantasy. Definitely wouldn't have chosen him if I had thought for longer on it. Its hard for me to make a top x list of guards in the NBA so I usually put them in tiers
No he's not better than dame. Why does this question even need to be asked? Why can't we enjoy them as one of the better backcourts in the league? Why do people want to trade lillard? Why do people want to trade cj? It's hilarious how some fans work. One player is in a slump, "it's the end of the world, trade him!", one player is playing out of his mind, "wow, he's better than our all star". Yeah, get rid of the guy who signed a 5 year deal loyal to the organization and fans. Let's just get rid of him. Some of you confuse me. "One of them has to go". Really? "It's trade value". Lol why does any of this go through people's head? Do you not understand that this could very well be the best back court for years to come? Some of the shit I read on here is hilarious.
Depends on how you look at it. CJ has a better 2pt% and a better 3pt%. Dame's TS% is higher because he gets to the FT more.
across the board, no. at some things better, at some the same, some worse. the real question is the difference enough? you'd have to think Dame could bring in some elite trades. massive risk tho
The question is immaterial. The backcourt of the future is here. However, yes, Lillard is better, but his shot selection needs improvement.
You think they would have gone to the Finals with Lowry as PG? Cause last year they made it to the WCF.
Exactly. That's why I always say Cj is much more efficient. That's why I think Cj is going to be better than Dame when he comes back from an offseason of confidence and learns to get to the line more..
