Meyers' hook shot is a potent threat, and may easily draw a foul. This shot should be encouraged and paired with Mason's hook. These 2 talls together pose a problem to defend. More FT shots for the Blazers would be welcome.

No. The theme here is to find more potent offense that uses tall Blazers and passing to find the open favorite shot that will allow for less pressure on Dame.

The video this morning demonstrates the high percentage 3-point shooting from Meyers and Dame that can together provide a lot of wins.

Don't you think that taking more 3-point shots (40+ per game) is a good strategy with the talented Blazer 3-point shooters?

Wait, you are saying an arcade game proves someone can shoot a high percentage from 3?

The video posted above by Fonzthecpt1 shows that both are high percentage shooters, and they both are 3-point scoring threats when they are hot and shooting open favorite spots.

If they know that more than 40 3-point shots are the strategy for the game, we would find out whether success improves.

Meyers is the best free throw shooter we have right? Well maybe he should start taking shots that might send him to the line.

Meyers is now at only 78% for FT, but last year showed that he is capable of >90%. Dame is now the best with 88%.

We need to get Meyers back to the FT and 3-point percentages that represent his true potential. My guess is that encouragement helps.

How would you go about improving Nards on the defensive side of the ball? Or does that side not matter as long as Nards is making 3's?

Damn you Stotts for not doing more of this in film sessions and practice sessions.
Damn you Stotts for not putting Nards in pick and roll situations where Nards is wide open so he can shoot the 3.
Damn you Stotts for not empowering Nards to make his free throws....
Damn you Stotts for teaching Nards to pump fake. Oh I also forgot this is Lillard & CJ's fault too. Damn them also.

I am on the "you are probably trolling us" bandwagon. Meyers is a bust, scared, horrible, scared, bust. A scared, horrible bust!

Meyers' defense does definitely matter! When he moves with the opponent and gets his arms up high to force them to change shot trajectory, he is effective. This movement-spacing-vertical defense should improve with talented coaching. Let's hope to see that happen.

Stennus, your judgmental quips don't help (and probably drag us down). What might help are some constructive comments, especially reasons not to be afraid to take shots. The counter to scared is confidence. Can you add good ideas here?

I'm sure it drags Beibs down. It shows on the court. He has no confidence. Dame freakin yelled at him to take shots.

I know you WANT him to be good, and you THINK he can be good, but aside from a game here or there, he's been utter trash. TRASH.

People hated batum for the same thing, and he could do so much more... so Beibs doesn't get a pass. Sorry if I hurt your lover with my words. I dont dislike him as a person.

Favored treatment is not what Meyers needs. Rather, he needs to bring the further advances in the talent that we saw in his best games. What the Blazers need is a way to encourage him to shoot, based on building his confidence. That can bring the hot streaks that would allow him to average 18+ points per game. The Blazers need to maximize resources, not think of them in negative terms.

We both see a lack of confidence. What might help is to improve that situation, which means stating reasons to shoot on this forum. Every player has his weaknesses and can develop significantly from a path to improvement. That is what I hope to see here.
