What was that old country western tune they used to play during the Porter/Drexler era? Anyone remember that?
Anybody remember the old background music during replays in the 80's? It was one song... you guessed it! Pick Up The Pieces by Average White Band. EVERY NBA TV crew played that instrumental during the replay highlights segment. It's like the league owed the band money or something. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
who the fuck is D rock? Ad Rock, smh 2 outta 3 aint bad, but fuuuuuck and considering its Brooklyn, why no 'No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn'?
That's hilarious because Bill Maher just referenced this band the other day, and it was the first time I had heard of them and now it pops up as a reference again. What's especially surprising is that I actually know this song, and I totally remember this song being used all the time back in the day too haha! Wow damn I am starting to enter that age when you realize you're old, shhhhhhhhhhhhhit!
You know how old I am? I remember when Bill Maher just wanted to be a comedian! [emoji12] Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
What's changed? Haha, actually Bill Maher is probably my favorite tv show host, only maybe eclipsed by Colbert, maybe.
hah , i had to check the post you were replying too, i was like 'first time i had heard of them', oh no, he better not be talking about BB lol but AWB, totally understand.
I don't mind Maher like some people do. Yes he panders, but he does it in a smart way and his jokes are fresh. You gotta remember that guy came out when their were a million Jerry Seinfeld lookalikes. All doing the same airline food jokes and "Have you ever noticed...." premises. Colbert I've only seen a few times, but he's looks like he's still finding his style. He should watch some old tape of Letterman. That guy really was the best what he did. He didn't pander to the guests and he didn't try to make himself look smarter than his audience. Letterman realized he had to tell jokes only he and the audience could get. Jim Fallon is worst. Talk about a traffic accident. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
First off MB doesn't have a strong hiphop background obviously, but got 2 out of 3 right. Not bad for a country boy from Albany. Secondly, I used No Sleep Til Brooklyn a few years ago on our first game @ Brooklyn..... Because of federal music copy rights (ASCAP) I couldn't use it again. So being that the Beastie Boys are FROM Brooklyn, it works. WOW! So how did that attempt to crack work out for ya player? Learn your shit, before you start critiquing people and their work. And your girl Orion Bailey LIKED your post..... #OOPS
Me too! That was like the first adult comedy I saw! BTW thanks for playing the Beasties! I got ALL their albums from my childhood. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
learn my shit? lmao i said 2/3 and you agreed and he's the one that said he used to play em a lot sooooo.... and who the fuck knows or cares about what you did 3 yrs ago? worked out pretty well actually, apparently. u extra butthurt today or something?
Just be aware of whats going on before you critique son. It would be a federal offense if I used that song AGAIN. If you DID know what I did 3 years ago, you'd realize how foolish your post is cracking on my work. Butt hurt, no. but if you're gonna call me out, makes sure your ammo is correct is all. I'd just have all my shit together before I'd call somebody out on their work is all.
if you asked 100 people what beasties track for a vid vs. the brooklyn nets 99 would say no sleep, and the other 1 would be you. - Mike D is even wearing a Knicks Tee in the vid if i remember, so yeah, guess i suck at relevance? it's your work, and that's fine - but if you think me being subscribed to you career/life newsletter is the entry to having an opinion to things you post on the internet, well shit, sorry nope. all i did was ask why no sleep, and next im ignorant for not knowing you've used it 3yrs ago n blah blah? pump the breaks on the ego bro.... the crack was a the D Rock, the question was on the track....
