No pun intended, but this track is just what the Dr ordered. Not enough positive music coming out nowadays. I dig the fast lyrical pace. Was also glad to see some footage of the Charleston Unity Walk back in June after the massacre. I didn't see one bit of national coverage for it (on TV anyways). No surprise though, only bad news gets the ratings.
ACTUALLY, Bootsy just produced the featured sample track "Just Believe 'n Love" by Thera-P. GOSH! I found it on itunes, but can't pick it out in Dame's tune. No funky bass either.
Yeah, he needs to work on that. It could be that it was exaggerated by the way the microphone was placed, but it is distracting. Given the way Dame works on everything else, I'm betting that he's aware of it and gets it under control.
I was trying not to burst the bubble gushing here but if Dame wants to be a singer, he needs some breathing training...he's almost wheezing or gasping in the line breaks...I think it sounds a bit rushed...and he's sounds a bit out of breath trying to keep up to speed. If I produced this track I'd have taken the click track down about 10 bpm but I've got old school ears
On the other hand, a proficient engineer could have erased those vocal breathing glitches from the mix...still could
