Game Thread GAME# 44: BLAZERS @ WIZARDS - JANUARY 18, 2016 - MONDAY, 11:00 AM (PST), CSNNW

I mean how far off are we really from competing in the playoffs. A lot of it is going to have to do with match-ups no matter what. We aren't really deep enough to contend with the Spurs or Warriors, so if we faced them it would be tough. But I wouldn't mind playing any of the other playoff teams - Rockets, Mavs, Grizzlies, Clippers, Thunder.

 

They are flying from DC to Portland. Not much water under them for that flight. Maybe just wanted someone to get his drinks for him?

 

So let me get this straight...Now we are shooting for the 6th spot?

San Antonio wouldn't hurt that bad though. Patty Mills will fill in for Parker pretty well.

 

I want the Spurs or Warriors, I like it that we'd be underdogs and I don't think we're an easy match-up for either of them. I think many people would sleep on us but we can get at least 1-2 wins and add a competitive playoff-series to this team's resume. I don't think we can close eough gap to face any of the other teams, anyway, and I think we're still at least another season away from contending

 

Did you just watch what the Warriors did to the Cavs? Nobody sleeps on anyone in the playoffs. I love your optimism but the Blazers need to just get a good pick this year.

 

We'll get our asses kicked in the playoffs and we'll get the next Kwame Brown in the draft.

Managed to finally watch the game at night, but damn! That offense looked real good. The ball movement was amazing, and having Mase up around foul line as the release guy when Dame gets trapped is looking like a serious threat. He makes good decisions and either drives or kicks to the perimeter, and two passes around the arc later, we get a wide open 3.

It's downright Warriors like.

I seriously want Plumlee as part of our future. He needs to make that foul line jumper a respectable one, and improve his ability to finish at the rim, and he turns into Draymond.

yea, but some coaches are already on to that shtick. Don't remember which one exposed it the most...Quinn Snyder if i'm not mistaken.

Since when is a 1-4 or 2-4 series loss a "competitive playoff-series"?
If we play the Warriors we'll lose 0-4, by an average of 15+ points per game.

 

Maybe it was the game before, maybe it was some other coach, but i remember Plumlee was targeted in one of the last few games.
And it doesn't matter if we won or not, i'm talking about coaches limiting that line of traffic.

 

I said at least 1-2 wins. I think if we end the season on a high note (which is probably the case if we make the playoffs) we're good enough for at least that against the Warriors
