    For those who don’t favor bottoming out entirely and hoping for luck in the lottery, the Blazers’ rebuild is refreshing. Young players are seeing most of the minutes and producing. Smart veteran signings supplement them. And the team is competitive and winning enough to hang with anyone. The team is on pace to rebound quickly and to get Rip City back to the winning ways they are used to.

    "When LaMarcus made his decision, we shifted gears as quickly as possible," said Olshey. "And that's how we were able to build the infrastructure of even adding more younger guys around the same career arc as Damian Lillard. A lot of those guys have out-produced their contract, a lot of them are working to still do that. The confidence we have in our coaches, our system, our culture will put them in a position to maybe be more successful than they were in their previous stops is what will help us eventually optimize their asset value, whether it's with us or someone else."

    The front office has done a commendable job jumpstarting the roster and positioning itself for moves but I also credit the roster for buying in, coming into camp early and working their tails off to be able to compete and surprise a lot of folks without much attention from the media to fuel them

    This article is the hundredth one I've read since last summer praising Olshey for signing some players after blowing up the team (on purpose?). We are .432. Hurrah.
