"This is more Kawhi’s team, and we all fit in around him" - LaMarcus Aldridge

This is hilarious to me. So this guy went from being jealous of Damian, Roy, etc. to now saying this is Kawhis team and accepting this new role. Could he be bipolar too? is it possible? or could he have really have made a change for the better? I haven't watched a lot of Spurs games and how he plays now but apparently he has changed a lot

true. Pop is one of the greatest coaches of all time but it's not like stotts is a terrible one. I think a lot of it might also have to do with Duncan being his role model as well. Maybe he actually listens. It's just a shame he couldn't put that much effort in Portland.

Simply just couldn't buy into it here like he has been able to there. That shit just kind of happens, thankfully Dame has bought into it here.

Didn't he give that douchebag Pat Riley credit for showing him the light, that he couldn't win it all by himself? Good for him.

LMA wasn't happy here, felt slighted from things YEARS ago and anyone else would have shrugged off. No surprise he is accepting of a role on a team that he has no baggage with that is full of Vets and the best coach in the NBA who will not hesitate to put him in his place.

I think he's in the right place and the right role now. Leadership is not one of his skillsets.

It;s just crazy to me how he felt like dame took the spotlight when everything went through him even when he was making his decision. His 2nd pick was the Suns where he would be the leader, now all of a sudden he doesn't want that role and admits Kawhi as the leader. It's just crazy

The little kid who's father was never around felt slighted and unloved, so wanted to grow up and be an adult.

Then one day his dad came around and showed him what he was, a child. And finally, he accepted it.

Was shocked to see him moving so well without the ball last night..

Kawhi is a top player in this league, and LMA is what he's always been, a Robin.

It's a simple case of respect. LMA did not respect the coaches and their teachings as much as he does the well revered Pop. When a person actually respects another person that is "in charge" (so to speak) of them, they will give FAR more effort to do what they are being told. He ACTUALLY wants to be a better player for Pop than he ever wanted under Stotts etc.

    Between Phoenix and San Antonio?

The fact that he would have left POR to go to a worse situation in PHX speaks volumes to me. Fuck him and stop posting this shit. We don't care.

We shall see how he feels if he doesn't make the all star team.

One more thing; Popovich doesn't have to worry if Aldridge will leave when his contract is up, he'll be too old by then for it to matter. That had to always be hanging over Stotts' head. so probably felt he had to defer to Aldridge.
