All seriousness aside, I like Denny's idea but I agree with SPD's thought that a given organization might be hesitant to let their underprivileged youths hang out with Coors Light-swilling sasquatch. (No one in particular in mind.)

A simpler, cheaper solution with the goal of bringing the group together might be a road game viewing party, and I have a venue in mind. It's in the ghetto of Lake Oswego, near the I-5/205 interchange, not far from Claim Jumper. I know the bartender/owners and could probably reserve an area in front of the big TV. Lots of beer on tap, and good food.

    Anybody up for that?

This is a good idea, a viewing party might be easier to pull off.

And, I have a plan to get jlprk there: We send him a bus ticket from Bellingham to Haight-Ashbury and commandeer the bus at I-5 exit 291.

I agree completely. I mean, I'm not sure how well the Rip City Zeros can handle being around a group with a higher level of maturity........

The organization might not appreciate exposing kids to what a lifetime of Blazer fandom will do to you as you age. Imagine if one of those troubled kids got into Wookie's Coors Lite sandwich stash

I think we should keep these ideas separate... at least for now. Im still working on availability and final costs on a Blazers box suite for 15 people. I think Sly is potentially working on a second suite offered by the Blazers. Then we can also have a viewing party somewhere.

I am in agreement though, that I dont think the charity should be mixed with the suite, unless we are pooling together to get a suite for them and none of us... and I dont see us realistically doing that until next year, so we could have some better planning/organization and prove ourselves as a worthy donator and not some stalkers or something. :)

Blazers don't have a suite they can give us.
