The other Blake Griffin deal that I could see making sense is trading him to New York for Melo. Something would have to go back to the Clippers such as an unprotected pick but the framework makes sense for both teams. Melo with his trade clause goes to the only other city he likes in LA. Melo and CP3 are good friends. Melo can score in crunch time, where Griffin struggles, can play the 4 and is a win now move. The Knicks are rebuilding around the Zinger and Griffin is closer to his timeline. NY has to give up some other assets since Griffin is so much younger.

That would be fascinating, and makes a lot of sense.

I don't see how that balances out Cleveland.

    Irving/dellavedova
    CJ/Henderson /shumpert/Jr smith/Jared Cunningham
    James/James Jones/Richard Jefferson
    Thompson
    Mozgov/varejao/Kaun

They don't need to add another sg, let alone 2, to that roster. That's way out of balance.

I wonder if we can snag Greg Monroe somehow.

I think we could pretty easily and it would not cost that much, but do we want him is the big Q? I am not so sure we would

I'm sure the Bucks would be happy to unload him. Just as the Pistons were. And just as we would be very shortly.

Not too sure the Bucks would be too excited about that. Unless they just want out of his contract so badly they would dump him. Is Monroe playing that poorly for them?

It depends if you put LBJ at the 3 or 4. I say in the games that matter against the top team he plays best at the 4, so they then need Hendo and Shumpert at the 3. If you believe LBJ is a 3 then they should keep the team as is.

The Heat won their titles with LBJ at the 4 and Bosh at center. Its kind of odd two of the Cavs best players play the same position. There was a good Grantland article when the Love trade happened comparing the two guys shot charts and the strongly overlapped.

I'm not too crazy about getting rid of CJ. We should just wait and see if a team wants to unload us a solid player in which we don't have to give much up.

I love what CJ has done this season but for us to be really successful long term he is gonna have to move to the bench and be a Jason Terry/Manu Ginobili super sub. I don't know if he will accept that role. If he can land us a young all star/all pro player then you have to pull the trigger on that deal.

I think Crabbe is a perfect starting shooting guard. That's why I'm not really afraid to trade CJ for something of greater need.

Seems to me like Leonard and Henderson have been getting 'showcased' lately for a possible trade.

I'd try to pry away Nurkic from Denver.

Jokic IMO is their COTF. He was a huge steal. You re-do that draft and Jokic goes top-10.

Why do we need a center? I believe in plumlee, and davis is the perfect backup. We need another crabbe.

One thing that is going to be very unpredictable is that in all likelihood we are on the top of every other teams list as a 3rd team to make a deal work. So as the deadline bears we may end up in a trade but not because we initiated it or were the team receiving the initial proposal.

Because we have quite possibly the worst rim protection in the league, and we have the lowest scoring front court in the league
