If slavery is someone taking 100% of your work/income, then you are 25% a slave if that's how much government takes from you. A fair definition of slavery.
Liberty, then. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/slavery : submission to a dominating influence
What goes on in your bedroom is none of my business. Not sure about government, tho, as they are spying on us all.
bedroom? what are you, a newlywed? I'm not afraid of the gov't Denny, I've been employed by them...they know whatever they know..doesn't affect me at all..the world is spying on us all...we're on the internet for pete's sake. Junk mail everyday in the mailbox...telemarketing spam...you have to keep it in perspective
you are the government Denny. It's not some person stealing your labor with threat of constant violence and inability for you to grow, develop or accumulate wealth. It's a general agreement amongst those in a society to share some of their earnings for the betterment of all. Just because it's not all spent in the best way, and just because you don't agree with the philosophy doesn't equate it with slavery. To do so is demeaning to all the people who have truly gone through hell from birth to death at the whim of their owners.
I'm not the government. That's just silly. The government is almost exclusively people nobody voted for.
