Just before Christmas, we lost our fifth game in a row, the second losing streak that large of the season. There have been 22 games since Christmas; we are 15-7 since then (.682), which would be 56 wins over 82 games. Yes, strength of schedule is a real thing to consider, but 22 games represents more than 1/4 of a regular season, and we've been playing like a 50+ win team in that span. I'm proud of the fight in these guys!
Cool I guess but I don't understand why we're giving the Nuggets a 1st round draft pick for Christmas.
Because we're actually a good team, and they need it more than we do, and we want to be completely free of all Stepien rule restrictions ASAP?
I've been thinking about SOS since hearing that we have the most difficult SOS of any team in the league from this point forward. What I think it all boils down to is how capable a team is. We've had an easier schedule so it is easy to assume that we won't win 1/2 of our remaining games considering we are just under that mark through the "easier" portion of our schedule. However this team is capable of being competitive against anybody, and I think the start to the season is not only a reflection of the teams we have played, but also the growth that the team has needed to get to where they are today. This is certainly a vastly improved team from the start of the season. Now we just have to wait and see if they have improved enough to play .500 ball against quality teams. Gonna be really interesting seeing how this season plays out.
Yep they are getting better. They are a young team with 4 new starters. So it makes sense that after a good start, they would struggle in crunch time. They lost some close games because they could not close out. Then you add the solid veteran play by Henderson after he came back from his injury, a healthier Damian Lillard after his injury.......and we are seeing better results. Some of the teams ahead of the Blazers really aren't better, just more experienced. We could move up if we don't get hit with injuries. Of course the trade deadline could alter things. It should be an interesting two weeks. Wednesday's game will be huge for Houston after they get blown out tonight in GS. I have a bad feeling about it. But if we could end up 500 at the break it would be pretty amazing.
We have a great opportunity to basically crush their spirits with (hopefully) two more home wins. I hope we are hungry enough to take them.
.500 at the break? I'd take that all day. This team sure has been on a good stretch . Lots of ball yet to be played. They'll be up for it... lets just hope they can compete at the level they are now. Time will tell.
