Sure, but Kareem's FGA went from ~18 to ~15. They unloaded Norm Nixon to free up more attempts for the rest. They replaced a higher volume shooter, Jamal Wilkes with the more efficient Worthy. And they played low usage Kurt Rambis.

And Magic was pretty special himself. He clearly made his teammates better and could have scored 22-30 PPG if he didn't sacrifice his opportunities for his teammates. Like Love does and Bosh did.

Maybe a better example is Ron Harper. The season before joining the Bulls, he was #1 option and a 20+PPG scorer. Then he became an elite defender and ~6 PPG scorer. The Bulls got him to produce in Jordan's retirement.

First season with the Heat, he averaged 26.7/7.5/7, Wade 25.5/6.4/4.6, and Bosh 18.7/8.3/1.9 (on just 13 FGA). Wade and Bosh are hardly spot up shooters, IMO.

On the road against the Celtics, a team who has won 18 of their last 22 games (now 19 of 23)?

That is like saying what is wrong with the Jazz if they lose to us tomorrow at the Rose Garden (Moda Center).

But if you want a truthful answer, they are still missing Burks and I think he is a big piece for them even if he comes off the bench. Oh and they need a real PG on their team (Exum is another guy out of course).

If we just play .500 the rest of the way we are a lock pretty much for the playoffs... There's no way the Rockets or hell even the Mavs and Grizz get any better

Sure, or we could cheat a bit. Whatever it takes, I always say.

And the team was a disappointment. The whole was much less than the sum of its parts. Wade and Bosh had to take a significantly lesser role in order for the team to succeed.

They had to decimate the roster to make room for the three FAs, and had no exceptions or draft picks to improve the team until the next season. They did make the finals :)

They were supposed to be Boston II and were nowhere near as successful out of the gate. Miami had arguably the two best perimeter defenders in the game with LeBron and Wade, and Bosh was no slouch in that department. They were a poor fit offensively but made up for it as a defensive nightmare -- you were a Chicago fan back then, so I know you know how Rose fared against them in the playoffs following his unstoppable MVP season.

Also, their biggest addition was probably Shane Battier who was, guess what, primarily a spot up shooter on offense.
