Gone at age 91, a long career of steady work turned him into a pretty dam good actor after his Military Service ended. RIP sir, you were one of the good guys.
A classic supporting actor, for the most part, and a treat to watch. One of those few actors we see most of our lives, yet don't quit give the accolades out until its too late, IMO....

Read Airport not long before I saw the movie in a Boston theater. The movie version was well cast with Kennedy playing Joe Patroni to the hilt.

Absolutely not, my father was career Navy, myself career Army. I traveled the planet from birth until I left the Army in '86. I went to AIT at Fort Devens Mass in '63/'64. Served my first across the pond tours from May of '64, through August 67, then got stationed at Fort Devens from August of '67 through August of '70. I've been a Yankee Fan since the '55 season. Though I had some good times in Massachusetts I never lost anything there. New England I will say is a region of its own.
...My Dad said he had the most fun in the Philippines back in the 40s and 50s...then later on in the 60s and 70s he said the Mediterranean cruises were great...said he ate like a King while aboard ship.
Hey Guys do any of you know The Difference between LIBEL & SLANDER. I have to call My LAWYER and I don't want to sound like an Idiot.
I've been fortunate in my career field, to of been surrounded by quit a large pctg., of Armed Service Men. From early on with most being Veterans of WWII or the Korean War, to Vietnam, to the Middle East. Men who built AC, Ships, Subs, Missles, Munitions/Armament; or other Vehicles. To Men who flew them, used them, or built them. From men who stood on Iwo Jima, to those who stayed underwater for 9 mos, or did their duties on AC Carriers. The stories of each Service Man, were often mind boggling, their lessons in work ethics, craftsmanship, and life and death experiences, were second to none. I'm honored I was trained by only the finest of these Veteran's and carried their torch once they passed, .... Of the many Service Men, I've listened to stories about, The Phillipine's was more mentioned than Thailand: aka, (fky fky G.I.) .... Especially when a group of G.I.'s gathered to talk about their duties, seemed like almost every G.I., had a wild story to tell about The Phillipines. I didn't know your Dad was Military, 59... Did you move around alot when you were a kid.
Lillie I believe LIBEL is the printed word while SLANDER is verbal. EXAMPLE: If I wrote an article that said Rob wears a training bra that would be LIBEL. If I spread the word that Ron has a cabbage patch doll collection, that would be SLANDER.
