The truth about Rest in the NBA http://sports.yahoo.com/news/the-truth-about-rest-in-the-nba-181702486.html
Thoughts on this article? I was not all that impressed with it personally. It is called "The truth about Rest in the NBA" but he doesn't really say what the truth actually is. Sure sleep is better than sitting on a bench. I have to think stretching out on the bench in street clothes is better for a 40-something year old like Duncan than playing all back to backs though. P.S. Posting the whole article is a no-no but F' it this time as @SlyPokerDog is always breaking the rules.
Just sounds like another old timer bitching about the modern game. Already have to hear Jeff Van Gundy speal this mantra in broadcasts. Now Jordan's old trainer wants to chime in a similar rant. Teams are paying doctors and trainers millions of dollars to keep their players in top physical shape; they have valid reasons to rest them. I've thought for awhile the NBA should eliminate back to backs. Cut training camp to one week; only have two preseason games, and push the finals back a week. We don't need 6 preseason games when theres 8 regular season games stars sit out to rest. Teams could then also do all travel on off days so players have consistent full night sleeping patterns. I avoid buying tickets to a big game if either team is playing a back to back. I want to see both teams in peak condition.
Yeah I bet thats a big part of it. One reason I agree with Jalen Rose the scoring champ should be total points scored for the season.
I believe that just as the police should go unpunished for killing people, Denny should be free to break his own rules. Who's going to stop him? So it's a moot point. Denny is going to kill us all.
I've edited Denny's posts before when he insults people, lol. I police the police! SlyPokerDog for President!
I knew that was Tim Grover before clicking on the link... Weird article. There's nothing to disagree with in his reasoning, but nothing particularly sensible about it, either. Sounds like he's calling someone out specifically. My guess would be LeBron, since Grover worked closely with Wade and probably sees LeBron as the enemy now.
