What would you trade for Greg Monroe?

Because he's young, a good post scorer, and a good passer. Basically, perfect for Stotts' offense. Defensively however...

Because Meyers is a little too effective on D?
Because the modern game is all about plodding low post scorers?
Because, although every team he's left has improved and every team he's joined has gotten worse, the law of averages says that's got to stop eventually?

I trust Olshey, but you do have to wonder why Monroe seems to be available for trade all the time.

So a young player on a good contract? Sound like Plumlee. Him plus a 1st round pick? Sounds like an overpay unless it was a highly protected pick.

Not sure, I don't want him. I don't see how throwing into the post to a guy who shoots under 50% helps our offense. I'd much rather have a hustle guy like Ed Davis.

You make it sound like he's left and joined multiple teams. He has only been on Detroit and Milwaukee. Not really sure you can definitively say he's a problem.

I'd love to add Monroe to our team, it would be great to have the option of giving the ball to a big man who can actually score on his own.

I'm guessing Neil saw that he was available and tried to get him while he might be had for cheap. He probably low balled the Bucks just to see if he could pull it off.

So that article says he actually has a good TS%. 56%, so I take back my comment about him being sub 50%, but last season with Detriot is fg% was under .500. But these blazers have no problem scoring. Would they be even better with a front court scorer? I think what would really be lethal is a great rim protetor. But not a slow plodder like Lopez.

I'm guessing Neil didn't offer anything of substance.

    Likely offered absorbing the contract.

Monroe is a talented player. He just needs the right fit and he might work out. We need a talented big, and Monroe would be our most talented big.

I remember another big that got passed around like hpv among college kids named Zach Randolph. When he found a home in Memphis with a good coach to hide his deficiencies he did awesome.

Assuming Monroe has a good attitude and work ethic (I've never seen anything to suggest otherwise), I could see him fitting in very well with Stotts' offense.

And yes, we all know Damian and CJ can score, but it's not like it's impossible for them to have off nights or for really good defenses to make them struggle. Monroe would help alleviate that so much.

Yes. The games in which we lose, Dame and CJ are shut down. If we had a post threat it would add a third element to our attack, open up the court, and allow us to punish teams that go small constantly.
