Definitely. I wouldn't trade him for LeBron, Davis, Drummond, or even Curry.

Our best player has never been my favorite player - until now. But the only way he'll overtake Sabonis is if he wins us a championship.
And even though Sabas was the best to ever play the game, Dame is the best Blazer ever. Have fun with that logic, guys!

    I love Dame Lillard!

(Sorry, man, but JK25 will probably always be my fav. Blazer).

Couldn't agree more. Sabonis was and still is my favorite Blazer. Dame is up there with Buck Williams for me though. Another season of Lillard doing what he's been doing this year and it will be Lillard all the way for me.

"Easily" can be debated my many for days but I get where you are coming from. Walton and Clyde still rate above him because of where they were able to take the team and that they were both names Top-50 All-Time. Dame may get there but not enough body of work or success...yet.

Clyde happened to be stuck (with many others) playing in the same era as a GOAT nominee. Put the rules of today back in Clydes time and he would get to the basket at will even more than he did. People tend to forget what a physical specimen he was. 6'7" 222 but weighed more than that....he just did that because #22 was his number. Ridiculous physical skills and passing ability for a SG and one of the best rebounders at his position in the league.

Walton (like Sabas) was an incredible passer, defender and could certainly score when needed. It's a shame injuries cut his time here short as they robbed us of seeing Sabas in his prime.

Give Dame more playoff success and I think he ascends to that 'Greatest Ever' Blazer status that LaMarsha said he wanted.

As for favorite, Clyde was mine but Dame is gaining fast.

I've always felt an outsider in my life. As such, I didn't want to have a Roy jersey or a lma jersey. I have a Batum jersey, and a *sigh* Leonard jersey. I am now considering a Damian, because he's so fucking good.

Dame's would be the only one I got.

I had a Roy jersey. Eh.

I've only had Telfair and Wells jerseys (they were 7 bucks at goodwill) and sportswear isn't exactly my style. But I would really rock some Dame wear.

Looking at those stats is pretty amazing. Dame is probably going to end up with over 7000 points and 2000 assists by the end of his first four years.

He'll have done it scoring the fewest FTM's (~1500) out of the three (Lebron had 1914, Oscar had 2767). He'll have the highest eFG%, and second highest TS% (behind Oscar). He might end up with more assists than LeBron in the first four years. Drop FTM for LeBron and Oscar to Dame's level, and their Per36 PTS drop to right at Dame's level. Except for FTM's, Dame is right in the mix with both those guys.

AND he did it as a teammate. LeBron was always The Man on his team (nobody else was close to his FGAs), and Oscar was on his (he shared first option duties with Jack Twyman his rookie year, but after that, Robertson took over clearly). Dame has been one of two fairly equal options FGA-wise all four years.

You could argue that Dame is the best of all three as a TEAM facilitator in these first four years. That he's on such a short list is awesome...

    Legendary.

Last year I really felt like LA was holding him back, and now we can see the proof. I know that we've debated whether Roy or Dame were/are the better overall talent, but I think Dame has put that to rest. I think Dame is the better player and the better leader.

To me, there is no doubt.

    Dame > Roy all day.

Here's what's funny: Dame is the first option now, yeah? CJ is in Dame's 2014-15 position... CJ is scoring almost exactly what Dame scored in 2014-15 (CJ is getting 21.4 per 36, Dame got 21.2 per 36). But Dame has blown away any of LA's seasons as a number one option. Ergo, we're much better in our one-two options than last year; we just need to shore up 3-10.

Here's Dame this year versus LA last year: http://bkref.com/tiny/NL5V4 Note that Dame's shooting about as well from 2P% as LA, and also better from 3P%

I watched a Warriors game a few nights back where Jim Barnett was speaking about how long he has been watching the NBA. Since 1957, so I thought back to when I began watching the NBA.
I think it would have been 1952 when TV first became available in Oregon on Channel 27 and Channel 6 a bit later. We probably did not get Sunday afternoon NBA games on 27, yeah CBS on channel 6. I made it a point to to get a job at the furniture store so I could get in to see a TV on Sunday afternoon.

Bob Cousy was the man, then Elgin Baylor. Yeah there were guys like Bob Pettit others that you hear of but... en. Bill Russel made the league go a few years later.

Seen them all, and my favorite Player, the most skilled in my humble opinion is Arvydas Sabonis. Not as Blazer but as a basketball player. I don't believe there ever was another that could do all the things Sabonis could show you on the court. The first time I saw him play, about 1984 I think, in Germany. After about half a game I thought, maybe I am watching the best Center I ever saw play, Maybe the best basketball player. I caught him one more time, then I watched all his games in Seoul. Yep no doubt.

But as a Blazer, well, have to say Walton/Sabonis, then Petrie and Gross then Lucas. Hard to make Walton any less than first. And Gross, hell I just liked the non stop motor that guy played with,
him running all around to court to finally take a hand off from the High post (Walton) for the clear shot. If he missed, Lucas was right there. I always wished we had had a coach that would impliment a similar system when Arvydas was here. Geez, that would have been powerful.

Geoff Petrie might have been the best shooter I ever saw play, he was and offensive machine for the short while he had knees. The only player I can think of to compare as a shooter with Curry, but we will never know, no three point shots in his day, although that is what he did very well. I think he would still hold the Blazer single game scoring record if his threes made were scored three. Some where over 60.

Oh btw, I never even liked Jim Barnett as a Blazer.
