http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...letter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=mlb I've not been fortunate, we've only seen 2 Yanx ST games, and this article on Eovaldi caught me off guard.... I never recall hearing or ever seeing Eovaldi throwing darts at 100 mph, even 99 mph, as this article states the YES radar gun has lit up at 99....elbow probs last year....? (am I losing my memory, at this young an age). I don't recall Eovaldi even struggling with his elbow last year, post TJ or otherwise.... One thing is cool tho', Eovaldi grew up in Alvin, TX....
Eovaldi Did Throw that hard Last Year. I Don't Remember how Long he was on The Disabled List, But It was a while.
Eovaldi got the highest run support in the league last year, over 7 runs per game. Which explains not only his 14-3 record but also his high ERA (over 4). I'll be curious to see how well he does without the high run support.
Well are you Popping the Pills or what??? I Don't Blame him for Not wanting to see you again, Because You made His Head Spin.
I am Predicting that they will be Better than The Last Couple of Years. I have Watched Almost Every Game. Btw Did you see The Replay of Yesterday's Game??? They Won. Tanaka and Severino Pitched and the Offense looked Pretty Good. Final Yankees 7, Pirates 2.
Today is only the 3rd game of ST we have had broadcast. I was hoping to see either Seve and Tank, (not knowing both pitched yesterday)...
Yeah, Eovaldi's average speed of his fastball was one of the very fastest in MLB last year. The problem still remains- he throws too many pitches and it's probably a result of him not having good command of his fastball leaving it too close to the hitting zone, not hitting the edge of the four quadrants of the strikezone often enough AND not having consistent control of his splitter. He can either put most of it together and become a GOOD pitcher or continue to flounder with a high ERA and allowing too many baserunners. I happen to think, barring injury, THIS should be the year we begin to see significant improvement or he'll be on the merry-go-round for at least another year or two......or ultimately NOT become nothing more than just another hard throwing back end of the rotation journeyman. He's been around long enough (5 years) - it's time to smarten up and get his shit together.....imo
