New season, same shit.....

The Yankees open up the season tomorrow (Monday) & have the 1st off day......wait for it................TUESDAY! Seriously? These trained well conditioned athletes need a day off after ONE! f'king game. What genius decided to do this year after year. You wait 6 months to play baseball & after one game you need a rest. Just DUMB! no other word for it.

Sorry, I just needed to vent after I saw the schedule.

 

...Yanx aren't the only ones who start their season like that...been like this for years.

 

I know Ron, I just absolutely don't see any reason for it. And the Mets are even worse, I just saw there schedule, they open up today & are off tomorrow, than play again on Tuesday & are off Wednesday & Thursday. I mean DAMN! 5 days into the new season & you need 3 days off. Just ridiculous. These teams would benefit a lot more if these off days were used later in the season when the players will actually NEED a day off.

 

...it has to do with scheduling...personally, I don't have a problem with it.

...and Rick, don't worry, after the Yanx win tomorrow they will remain in first place and breeze to another title, you'll forget all about this.

 

I get all that though to the Mets extent its even more ridiculous (3 off days in the first 5 days of the season) I'm just a strong believer that off days would be better utilized late in the season when tired players could really use an extra day or two off. JMO.

^^^The teams that aren't doing it are, Rays, Blue Jays, White Sox, A's, Mariners, Rangers, Marlins, Brewers, & every team in the NL west (5 teams). Now I don't know how many of these teams have domes but several are on the west coast. So perhaps there is a minimal amount of logic here.
