Yeah I don't see why some fans want to see thug basketball. If you want to watch fights go see UFC. I want to see the most skilled basketball players on the planet. The Suns 7 second or less is way better to watch than thug Knicks or Pistons basketball.

LeBron played with the current rules and had some epic seasons 5 years ago; theres still a big opportunity for a transcendent NBA athlete.

Maybe we should feel cheated we never got to see Jordan with the current rules.

Believe he meant they don't have control over 72 if the Spurs win.

    Sure.

    http://www.nba.com/history/decade_singleseason.html

Jackson's 12-man wrecking crew compiled the three best single-season records for the 1990's, including a record-setting 72-10 season in 1995-96. Interestingly enough, the three clubs that tallied 63-19 records all failed to advance to the NBA Finals, while 3 of 4 teams to went 62-20 reached the NBA Finals (San Antonio missed in 1994-95).

    • On 19 occasions, teams won 60 or more games in a single season.

    • The Bulls are the only team to win 60 games and also win the NBA Title in the same year, doing so five times in the 90's.

    • On 32 occasions, teams lost 60 or more games.

(Not sure how old that is)

Your probably right Kingspeed. Gaurds nowadays probably couldn’t take the punishment they did back in the late 80s & 90s.

Me too. I'm a little bit afraid that if they lose tonight, and don't have a shot at the record anymore, they're going to start resting guys.

That dude doesn't know what he's talking about. The freedom of movement part from Jay Bilas is right. Other than that the video is full of opinion and hyperbole. He said the rules said it literally says they 'open up the lane to let them get to the basket more". That dude doesn't know what the hell he's saying. He might as well be uncle Rico.

The rules say something like take two steps with the ball and it's traveling. Yet Dr. J took 2 or more steps almost every time he touched the ball. I see guys take 2 or 3 steps all the time and it's rarely called. Moses Malone led the league in offensive rebounds and he literally pitched a tent in the lane; the refs never called him for 3 seconds.

When the Bulls played the Pistons in the playoffs, the Pistons committed what would today be flagrant 2 fouls, along with immediate ejection.

Refs screwed up. That stuff was never legal.

And I don't know what you're talking about but you'll never find any rule book that says 2 steps is travel. Find a rule book and look up traveling. I guarantee you that you will not be able to interpret that rule. And not because you don't have great reading comprehension because I'm sure you do. Reading the rules it's just really weird. Next time we have a get together I'll bring a rule book and show you it's freaking crazy. 2 steps is not travel. You get a total of 2 steps after you picked up the ball. There have been some changes to certain definitiond and points of emphasis in the NBA with regards to cleaning up contact. Concussions have come into play now so that's the reason for the increase in the awareness of flagrant fouls.

I'm rooting for them. If they beat the Spurs again I'll root for them even more. Of course, I'd root for a team of my cloned music production instructor to best the Spurs.

P.S. I REALLY hated my sophomore college music production teacher.

i actually watched a little of their game last night, cause i was bored, and in one possession, i saw 3 illegal picks, a travel, a carry and 2 offensive fouls (slapping defenders hand away). talk about the NBA's golden child.

Legal or illegal, the refs didn't call traveling on Dr. J when he'd take multiple steps, or use both feet as pivot feet after catching the ball.

The point is the refs let the players get away with a lot because ticky tack calls all game long ruins the experience for the fans. They also absolutely give superstars better treatment, too. It's good for business.
