Since we have a bunch of guys in the NBA Award Races I thought it would be fun to compile all known ballots already. I'll start off:

What gets me is Stephen Curry. MIP? Did he really improve that much from last year? More than guys like CJ?

Thats pretty debatable I would think. Without looking at numbers, His ups are know where near some others Id think.

    Zillz G. Antetokounmpo B. Biyombo H. Whiteside

The fuck? BIYOMBO? This is MOST improved right?

Fun fact. Those three players COMBINED improved by 7.3 ppg, 2 apg, and 4.4 rpg.

CJ improved by 14.1 ppg, 3.3 apg, and 1.7 rpg.

CJ getting the MIP should be like Christoph Waltz winning an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor..... it's not a even a contest.

I agree. Curry is pretty damn good (MVP), but to consider him for most improved, I don't get.

Two way to look at MIP: raw improvement, and minutes adjusted. For example, if a player gets twice as many minutes, and twice as many points, is that really 'improvement'? Yes. Because it's difficult to continue that production at a high level of minutes. But I think both raw and adjusted need to be considered when looking at the full picture.

    Here's a look at CJ's Improvement:
PPG: 307.4% (raw), 138% (adjusted for minutes)
    APG: 430.0% (raw), 194.0% (adj)
    SPG: 171.4% (raw), 77.3% (adj)
    FG%: 102.8%
    3Pt%: 106.3%
    PER: 135.1%

    Here's a look at Curry's Improvement:
PPG: 125.6% (raw), 120.1% (adjusted for minutes)
    APG: 87.0% (raw), 83.2% (adj)
    SPG: 105.0% (raw), 100.4% (adj)
    FG%: 103.1%
    3Pt%: 102.0%
    PER: 111.4%

I don't think it's close. CJ is no doubt the most improved between these two.

If we're going to give Steph the MIP, we might as well just give him ROY, DPOY, and CoTY as well.

    Phooey.

I would trade all those awards for making it to the 2nd round of the play-offs.

Yep. A 126% increase in scoring for Curry.
CJ went from 6.8 to 20.9 ppg. A 307% increase.
Curry is good. MVP. Not MIP.

Their stats are comparable, Lowry's a better defender, and Toronto won way more games. It's not an unreasonable position.

Shit. I was thinking of Kyrie Irving... not Lowry. You are right.
