seriously though, the Jazz...did they just throw the game on purpose. You triple team Kobe knowing no one else will shoot. They played to lose and to make Kobe look good. If I was a Jazz fan I'd be fucking pissed.

Especially after they they beat the Lakers by 50 just a few weeks earlier. I can imagine that a few of them were popping off after that with their Lakers acquaintances. Now they will have this memory....forever.
I think the fact that they found out they had been eliminated from the play offs right before the game started had something to do with it.

I sometimes enjoy reading the Spurs Forum because they are amazingly clueless about basketball in general and ridiculously ignorant (constant use of homophobic slurs). Anyway, they are actually having a serious discussion about whether they should bring Ginobili back or just talk Kobe out of retirement and have him come off the bench.
You have to split the blame between the coach and the players. If I was coach, I would have committed to the super douchey box and one defense. Fuck letting kobe take 50 shots. Everyone would laugh at the box and one, but it would have done the job. And yes, box and one is the defense equivalent of comic sans.
Reminds me of when Stevie Ray Vaughan tried to play the National Anthem on slide guitar to open The Astros first game. He was hungover and f-cked it up terribly.
