Competitive. Competitve. That's all we asked for. Not to be spanked like some scrubs. Sorry nobody said we'd win the championship this year but if you wanted to make the playoffs so much you should be competing not back to back 20 point blow outs
I'm not saying C.J. or Dame sucks either. It's just the Blazers have committed to Dame already and I think the Blazers can trade C.J. and still get better at the same time.
i was going to ask if you were new here, but it seems not. this fanbase is top tier knee-jerk overreaction hotbed of opinion. through every incantation of this forum, any minor sequence of bad results has resulted in many many MANY sets of Rose tinted glasses being smashed on the floor in disugust. Good news is, we win one and place a new order for 30 new pairs of glasses. it's a see-saw of emotion in this mahfucka.
I know. Before the clips won two games it was "we can beat them! Rip city! Yeah!". Two games down. "Dame sucks, we should trade cj and magically grab Paul George". Hot take after hot take. People need to chill out and just look at the big picture. We shouldn't even be here. Yeah we all want competitive games and I have been frustrated myself but the still gotta win two more here. It's the NBA. Anything can happen. If we can shoot 30 percent and be down 4-10 the whole damn game practically with dame and cj playing like ass what does that tell us about the clips first off? It's still a winnable series. I don't think we will win it but I think it will get more competitive at the moda center. Let's not forget also that this clips team blew a 3-1 lead on Houston last year. Just saying.
True, you can trade cj and get better but I'm just saying I highly doubt it happens. I can't read minds but I would think Neil and the organizations approach is more to grab a big free agent. Literally a big one whether it's horford or whiteside, etc. we need another wing while we are at it
I hate to be a dick and bring it up again, but we really need to bring Boogie in. Trade anyone not named Dame,CJ or Davis for Boogie, there will be other Aminus. Oh, and sign Thibs, ffs.
I'm actually glad that's your reaction. Now i know Cousins will be a Blazer next year. Thanks for not Jinxing this one for me.
Cousins doesn't fit out culture. Trader Bob would get Cousins for Cliff Alexander but Neil Olshey isn't Trader Bob. Cousins has HORRIBLE character and he hasn't been able to get the Kings even close to the playoffs. The Kings had enough talent to make the playoffs this year but his attitude prevented it.
Who has been offering up Dame hate? If someone did, that seems to be a very rare poster. However, just because something is pointed out like "he is shooting 17% from '3'since the Rocket miracle" doesn't mean you are a hater.....that is just a stat. It's a stat over 3 years so it's not just in isolation and it carries over different types of rosters. I think people can make an observation like that without it being hate in the least. The Blazers were just undermanned and many people didn't want to believe that. The ones who were open to that Portland was not likely to win this series are not haters, just perhaps a little more realistic......certainly not less of a fan. If being a fan simply means looking at everything through rose-colored glasses, then perhaps the meaning of the word has changed.
I have seen many posts since this series began and even a little before where people constantly hate on dame. I mean yeah we can bring that stat up. Dame has also matured as a player and I think we can all agree on that. He also had to walk on eggshells with Lamarcus because he didn't really know his place while playing with him. Didn't wanna step on any toes as he's put it. It's fine to criticize but when you base it off a stat that can be logically broken down, kinda takes away your point in the first place.
It's not hate to point out a stat. We can put stats out all day. I could talk about the positive stats in his career and somebody in here would still pull a negative one out and go "look you're wrong".
I wasn't criticizing at all. Was just offering up an example that I'd heard and wondering if that would be considered being a 'hater'. Outside of one obvious example, I'm still not sure who is hating on Dame. Sure, people have pointed out parts of his game that still need work but that is balanced by parts of his game that have matured and become better. Taken in balance, that seems to be pretty realistic.
Double standards much? You say it can be logically broken down, but you repeatedly are just giving up excuses for his bad play. We all love dame. There is not one person on this board that doesnt want him to do well. We are all fans of the blazers. He hasnt been playing well in the playoffs. Thats the bottom line. We can dissect why, and talk about how cp3 is better than him and doing a great job against him, but the fact still remains he isnt playing well.
Well I'm all for making the Blazers better as a team, Not just keeping players around because they are fan favorites. I will say again, if you can better your team while trading one of your best players you make it priority to do some exploring around. Lots of options this summer for the Blazers!
