No. That would imply that he, at one point, had balls.

Rice is hyping it up, I wonder if he's privy to any internal discussions.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Dwight Howard on the right team with the right coach with the right contract with the right role could be an asset to winning.

Adjusted, I agree with Rice. The problem is, Howard would never accept a minor role and minor salary. He still thinks he's a star.

I don't know which one of yall said it but whoever did was right. The Rockets were rolling without Dwight and this year we have some silly record without him like 6-0 or something. This is the 3rd time now that Dwight has dragged his team down during his contract year

The bad apart about it is that if you give LMA the ball he can score. Dwight doesn't, someone looked at the numbers and it turns out Dwight gets more post touches than anyone in the league. Since he doesn't get shots people assume he doesn't get opportunities but shots don't count for all the time he actually gets great post position and is fouled or that he turns it over which happens a lot.

With the Spurs as an ancillary player, sure. With the Blazers he was mediocre and held us back. Last I looked (haven't in a while) we are a more efficient offensive team now that he's gone. He was not good as a primary option.

Dwight Howard is a textbook example of when fans emotions get in the way of objective thinking.

So experienced players aren't typically detrimental to a team when they are around 30. What Dwight could do is bring us that muscle we need down low for 3-4 years and buy time as Vonleh, Meyers and Plumlee continue to grow. By comparison the name fans in here have been fond of tossing around as a potential signing is Al Horford. Let's compare those guys.

    Stat: Al - Dwight
    Age: 30 - 30.5
    Height: 6'10" - 6'11"
    Weight: 245lb - 275lb
    pp36: 17.1 - 15.4
    usg%: 20.6 - 18.4
    rp35: 8.2 - 13.2
    ap36: 3.6 - 1.5
    bp36: 1.7 - 1.8
    bk%: 3.6 - 4.1
    PER: 19.4 - 18.9

    There ya have it!

Let's add a 3rd player to this comparison

    Age: 26
    Height: 6'11"
    Weight: 245lb
    pp36: 12.9
    usg%: 17.1
    rp36: 10.8
    ap36: 3.9
    bkp36: 1.5
    bk%: 3.2
    PER: 17.2

    Hmmm who could it be?

Luis Montero needs to start recruiting Horford because I think we'd all rather have him than Dwight.

Agreed. And that's what I would tell him. "We'd love to have you here, but not as the centerpiece of the team, and not at $20M/year. If you want to be a significant contributor to a successful team, then we have a place for you at a reasonable, incentive-laden salary. If you're seeking a superstar-level contract, I wish you the best in your search."

This is what happens when your stars hate each other. And Harden is just a horrible leader. Barkley was talking about it last night. He said it was obvious that the Rockets don't like each other and aren't happy for one another. It's a recipe for disaster.

I have to admit, as someone who has had to hire and fire employees, I would take a second, third and fourth look before hiring someone with this record of mutual dissatisfaction with previous employers and coworkers. He'd not just have to convince me, he'd have to come cheaply, with the possibility of greater rewards in the future if he "works out". Fit is far more important to me in my organization than raw talent or ability, and I suspect the same is true (or should be true) for a successful sports team.

So Dwight: Convince me you want to be here, that you can fit in, that you can get along with my existing employees, and that you'll do all that for less money because you "just want to win a championship". Go ahead, Dwight. Convince me. If not, I wish you success in achieving your career goals. Thanks for coming in, it was a pleasure to meet you.
