Different team, different scenario and most of all, different GM. The Suns were on a downward trend. They've gone from 48 wins to 39 wins to 23 wins. For them, the Aldridge play was a desperation move to reverse the trend - which it would have had it worked. It was a long shot, but it's not like they were going to contend with the likes of Marcus Morris. PHO was going to be a lottery team without Aldridge anyway. If they would have gotten him, they would have been right back in the playoffs. But, since they didn't, they end up with a higher draft pick to help their rebuild. POR is an up and coming team - not desperately trying to avoid bottoming out. Olshey already insured that won't happen. We are on an upward trend, So, I don't see Olshey making any desperation moves that will set us back to square 1. Will he go after Durant? I'm sure he'll look into it, but he won't put all his eggs in one basket. I'm sure he already has a back up plan in place, as well as a back up to his back up plan. Sure, I'd love to see us get Durant. What fan wouldn't? But if we don't, I look forward to seeing who we do get. This team is young and exceeded expectations by a wide margin, but still has some glaring holes. Olshey has a ton of cap space to work with and has been slowly acquiring assets (like the 1st round pick from CLE) that give him additional bargaining chips. It will be interesting to see what moves he makes to fill those holes and how it all comes together next season. BNM
He wasn't one of the top two options in Portland because he was never one of the top two talented players. The fact that he was the second option in Charlotte is not a good thing for Charlotte.
http://www.wxyz.com/news/former-msu...bringing-loaded-gun-to-strip-club-in-dearborn Wasn't this guy on our SL team a few years ago?
"but but but... he's black!" Suddenly I'm getting flashes of the "New sherriff's a n---" scene from Blazing Saddles
What a joke. As if he didn't have the opportunity to succeed here. He could have been the 2nd option on many of these teams if he were capable. He's option 2 with KEMBA WALKER, not Lillard, Aldridge, and Matthews. Surely even he can see the difference?
INDEED! If he doesn't become a Blazer, he needs to go to an Eastern team not named the Celtics (I hate all Boston teams, but not the city).
God, I want Paul Millsap in a Blazers jersey next year. That chase down block on Love was bad ass. Of course, I wanted to draft Millsap with our 30 or 31st pick back in 2006. We ended up passing on Millsap 4 times between 27 and 45 in that draft. Not one of the four guy we drafted is still in the NBA. BNM
Tie game. I'm having mixed feelings. I want the Cavs to lose, but I also want the Hawks to blow it up so we have a chance at Millsap. No way do they even think about blowing it up if they upset the Cavs. BNM
At least we tried to get him when he was a RFA...and made him a rich man. Maybe he still has some appreciation for that and will sign here.
Any chance of ATL blowing it up probably went out the window when they got past BOS. Although, if Horford walks, it may be the first domino to fall, like Aldridge's exit was in POR last year. BNM
He's got another year in his current contract. I want him THIS summer. Oh well, I'd "settle" for Horford. BNM
I wanna see what Schroder can do with 35+ minutes a game. If I'm Philadelphia I'm offering one of my bigs and a pick for him. Could see him dropping 18 and 8.
Manu wraps up Robertson but holds on to help prevent him from getting out of control and taking a fall. Very refreshing to see in a post season where Morris tried to dislocate loves shoulder, CP3 and Verajao make dangerous plays tripping and pulling players down to the ground, somebody tries to take Westbrook out with an elbow, and Durant thinking an eye for an eye is a fair strategy. Spurs are all class, and for that reason alone I find it hard to cheer against them.
