Hey guys. Just me have trouble to sleep after tonights game? Im thinking all the time in the last game. We have the game in our hands, and we just given to them. The warriors is so popular here in brazil. Like in america, the journalist and the midia loves them. They love curry, they love thompson... and.... i thikinhg. We gonna be sweep? How is your expectations guys for the next game in portland? And... i think that its fucking good experience. I mean, this team have to improve next season, i think the we can find a big man free agent. We kind need it, pumplee its a great bench, but not a starter... IF we can make a improve, find a big man, some players improve we can beat the warriors in next year. Dame have 25, CJ 24. They will get better season by season. I BELIEVE that have good point to we lose this series. The good point is, when this team get better, they will face the warriors with smell blood, they go for the kill will a better team, better lillard and cj, and we smash them for revenge. Thats my point... My dream line-up: Dame, CJ, Maurice (if he improve his 3pt); PF?; Al Hoford or A big man who can score. (guys, sorry for my english. never really pratice so much, so... probally have some gramatical errors.)
No need to be sorry--I know NO Portuguese, so you are way ahead of all of us. If you need more practice with your English, spend more time on this forum!! Last night's game was very difficult, for exactly why you said. But I don't think we simply gave the game away. I think the moment was too big for us. They weren't ready for such an important quarter. Much like what I feel happened in the 1st quarter of game 1. I think after game 1 quarter 1, the guys thought, "well, we're not winning this game, so let's relax", and they played well the rest of the game. Going into last night, I felt like that feeling carried over. "Can't win in Oakland, so let's just play ball". Then 3 quarters in, they're thinking "Holy cow!! We could actually beat the defending champs in their building!!", and they got tight, trying too hard to make the big play to save the game. I like your spin on how this series could impact next season. I hope it comes true.
Not a bad loss. On the contrary, I was superencouraged by the game. We're not going to win a championship this year. We need to gain experience playing NBA playoff defense, and we're getting it in spades. Our average age is 24 - the youngest in the playoffs, time is on our side. We had the lowest salary of any NBA team. We should be able to keep our core intact and add another high salary player. We have a great leader, a great coach, a great GM, and a great culture. Game 1: For the last 3 quarters, we outscored the world champs on their home floor with only 36 hours rest after a grueling series. GS had, what 4 days? Game 2: For the first 3 quarters, we outscored the world champs on their home floor only 48 hours later. All of these things point to a VERY bright future. Honestly, I think 3/4 of the GMs in the league would trade their rosters/contracts for ours - we're on the way up!
We have one of the youngest and rawest teams in the league and this 2nd round playoff experience against one of the best teams in history is invaluable..it does address needs going into the offseason and exposes weaknesses the young guys can work on off season..every playoff game is a school for them. It's a good thing, win or lose...I'm thrilled we won a first round series and if we win even one game against the Warriors, it'll be a success story.. the new look Blazers are a work in progress an we know why Olshey offered a max deal to Enis Kanter or Greg Monroe last summer...we need a scoring big and a shot blocker
The worst losses are when you know your team has the talent and ability to win but blow it. Like 89-92 Blazers, and the 2000 Blazer team. But I knew this team was going to fold eventually in game 2. So I wasn't upset. I honestly don't think Olshey expected this team to even make the playoffs. He knows this is square 1.
TRANSLATION FOR YOU DORKS....... I think with what the expectations were for this roster, we have overachieved! Be happy with the way this season has gone and just enjoy the ride. On a side note, I will be working in Brazil for 3 weeks in August and if you have any hot family members, it is an old S2 tradition to let me have big sex with them...... again and again FAMS! You geeks on here didn't know I could bring that fluent Portuguese heat did you?
"invaluable" means of such great value, you can't put a number/amount on it. Kind of like the word "priceless".
You're not alone in having trouble sleeping last night. It took me a while to mellow out enough to go to sleep, then I woke up in the middle of the night and started thinking about the game again. It was pretty tough being close to getting a win on the road and then having it snatched away. In order of magnitude of though losses, however, this one was nowhere near as bad as the 2000 Game 7 Western Conference Finals.
I disagree, I think that's the best loss there can be. You have control for 3 quarters, then lose it early in the fourth. Has we been blown out, that would have been harder. Had we lost with a last second shot, that would have been harder.
