CJ is going to sign a max after one good year, I'm not so sure on that one unless he goes into RFA. As for future injuries Anthony Davis has played in 64/68/67/61, thats in his first 4 years and thats all different injuries. AD needs to prove he can stay healthy.

You know exactly what i'm talking about. Lillard is a shoot-first point guard, he does not make other players better so your comment was irrelevant.

Also because i'm not sure if CJ is being undervalued here or not but here is a list of all players in the NBA who scored 20p on at least 40% from 2 and 35% from 3. http://bkref.com/tiny/LhjWZ. Not a very large list.

That sentence is just befuddling. Your "shoot first" PG is also 9th in the league in assists. There are very few PG's who are assists machines now and Lillard most definetly makes players better, just having him on the floor opens up passing lanes and gets people open because of the attention D's put on him. Thats not all he does but it really doesn't' seem like I should have to go into it.

I'm a fan of CJ and Damien, i don't want to see them gone.

If i were the GM then keeping them both would not make sense, but as a fan it's a privilege to watch these 2 entertaining guards each night.

What specifies a shoot-first point guard?

Westbrook had 10 assists a game, and I would consider him a shoot (OKC out of games) first PG.

There's shoot-first PG's, stat padders, and players that actually helps their team.

Dame actually helps his team more often than not. If he limits his shot selection to not-off-balance 3's he's good. That's legit my only beef with him is when he takes early in the clock off balance 3's, and he'll take them whether up or down in the game.

That said, I would not want any other PG in the league for this team. There's no debate.

I'm not ready to give up on it yet with the way the league is going. It seems horrible defensively, this year hasn't been pretty, but i'd give them another year before deciding to trade CJ unless an offer that I couldn't pass up came along.

Agreed on all counts. It seems like simple logic, doesn't it?

I get it. I do. I love lillard too. Great leader.

But come on. I would swap lillard for curry in a second.

Eh. Sure. I just forget Curry is a PG, he's just on another planet.

Assists stats are also irrelevant (may i need to remind you of Stephon Marbury?) and making the team better is different than making your teammates better.
That last point you made applies to Kobe as well.

Let's say you replace AD with Lillard.
Will the Pelicants make the playoffs?

Kobe was going to shoot and it didn't matter what, you just knew he was going to hoist up shots. Lillard shoots a lot but he also makes some amazing passes, Lillard doesn't mind giving the ball up which is something Kobe had a real problem with. You can tell just watching that Lillard is trying to make the best play he can out there, and with his teammates can you blame him for shooting as much as he does?

That's not the point, i just don't like the fact that every second star in the league is somehow "making his teammates better".
It's true for rare players like Magic Johnson,Jason Kidd or Lebron James, but to say that Lillard makes his teammates better while AD can't because he's not a leader or whatever is kinda weird for me.

Never said AD didn't make his teammates better. Lots of players make there teammates better especially a player who can score and is a willing passer. Lillard isn't on the level of Magic or LBJ but that doesn't mean he isn't making his teammates better.

Dame does make his team better in alot of ways. Is assit would be double digit if players around him would make there shots if we had a third scorer in the starting lineup that would whole alot different in some of you see Dame. Is leadership alone makes players better.

Wow, so you take the 5th worst defensive team in the league, subtract Anthony Davis, add Lillard and you get a playoff team?

    Wow.
