And they can trade mcroberts pretty easily id think. He only makes like 5.7 million, which will be nothing in this new cap era for a rotational big.
I'd be surprised if Wade pulled a Tim Duncan and took a big pay cut to help sign Whiteside, but stranger things have happened. Wade's negotiations last year weren't smooth.
Interesting that, at his age, he went with a 1-year contract. Given the UFA status of his good buddy LBJ, along with KD, I wonder if some shenanigans might be afoot to create another "super team". PG - Anybody (DAME!) SG - Wade SF - Durant PF - LBJ C - Anybody (PLUMLEE!)
When my wife and I were younger we would buy Yellowtale and Bare Foot wine because that was our budget and laugh at how silly it is to spend more. Now we make more money then we did then and laugh at how ignorant we were to think Yellowtale was good.
I saw this on Blazersedge: One thing to keep in mind with any potential Howard deal is the possibility of either the Union or League opting out of the CBA next year (which will probably happen) So there is a good chance there will be another amnesty provision and allow a team to void a contract. Let’s say Portland does give him his max and it goes horribly wrong next season then they can cut ties with him after one year and his contract comes off the cap. by Blazerfan72 on May 19, 2016 | 2:26 PM reply Does this seem as likely as this person says?
If there are a ton of egregious contracts signed this year as the signs point to.... My guess is yes.
What does Howard bring the Clippers that Jordan doesn't? Seems to me it's a lateral move at best for a guy that probably wouldn't be as well liked in the locker room
Why move to the cold north I'll be heading south before THAT wall gets finished if so and so ends up in office.
My concern is that we JUST got rid of a me-first guy who whines behind closed doors and resents his teammates for touches he should have had, or endorsements, or accolades.
Did you see the latest interview he did? IT seems he might have just turned the corner and be willing to do what a team needs him to do to win. HE still wants the max though.... Id take him for 1-3 years at $20-$22 mil a year though with a team option on the third.
Is that what you got from it? What I drew from it was that he was wounded that Houston/Morey didn't want him more involved on the offensive end. He didn't come out and say exactly how involved he wants to be, but I suspect that if he weren't emphasized enough on the offensive end, he'd be unhappy again. And I just don't think he warrants being much of an emphasis on offense. Drop it into him once in a while? Sure. Run some pick-and-rolls if he's willing (something he hasn't shown much in the past). But he definitely shouldn't be touching the ball nearly every time down the court.
I think that is the old one form almost a week ago? He just did another one I heard clips of this AM. I will try to search for it.
Well what a bunch of crap. I just lost some respect for rip city 2 in the mornings and travis in the afternoon. They were saying Howard did another interview and has turned the corner. Then they quoted a few comments ( obviously out of context) that made me think it was a new interview. I did the research and he hasn't done one since the one last week. I think the radio guys were picking up on this new ESPN article from 23 hours ago reporting the same old news. WTH is ESPN doing posting this yesterday when its old news. I think it fooled the DJ's and then I ran with their mistake. Egg in face.. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/15596878/dwight-howard-qa-superman-returns
