The new Nvidia 1000 series just got announced and our 970s look dated. Oh well, I'm fixing to have a Pascal build in a year or two.
Yeah I got the email today re the 1000 series. My first thought was that it'd probably run a grand easy. $380 msrp for the 1070 and $600 for the 1080. I could do that!
I could do the 1070 next year. As long as it has ports for 3 monitors (to which I want to upgrade to) then I'm good.
Infinite warfare has nearly three million dislikes... "Boots on the ground" cries the COD community but do you remember the last boots on the ground game? COD Ghosts -- possibly the most hated COD game. Well, 1a/1b with Advanced Warfare. They just need to go back to WW1/WW2. Nearly a decade later and World At War is still one of the most played COD games out there.
I was clicking around on twitch last night and saw "Boogie2988" I was like "This guy looks really familiar" and sure enough it's "Francis" from the youtube videos. Dude is pretty funny, definitely feeds into the "memes" to entertain the younger crew. He's got a multitude of voice's that he can do. I figured "Francis" was just a character he does, which is true, but he's committed so I've got respect.
I loved Ghosts. It was the 2nd COD I ever played. I never bought Advanced Warfare or Black Ops 3 because I thought it looked like some Arcadic crap..
I had a 660 then used EVGA's step up program to get the 970. Pretty happy with the upgrade. I can play pretty much everything maxed out.
I kinda want to build a small gaming PC to play No Man's Sky on in August. I'd hook it up to my TV and play in the living room... I could get a PS4, but I'm open to something I could hide behind my TV and double as a Plex server. What are your thoughts? I haven't built a PC since the 90's... So I want it to be simple, but I'm not brain dead.
You could try a mini-ITX build, those cases are pretty small. Pretty much every game has Xbox 360/One controller support besides strategy games like Civ and Crusader Kings, but you wouldn't want to play those with a controller anyway. I have my PC connected to my TV and it's no different from my PS4 or Wii U, except the games run and look a lot better. If you google mini ITX build there's all kinds of articles to help.
You missed out. Especially with MW2 and BO1 during their hay day. Ghosts maps are A LOT better than BO2/BO3 maps. I don't get all the hate.
Anyone played Overwatch? I'm thinking about blind buying the $40 PC version, but it reminds me too much of Team Fortress 2.
I've watched a couple streams of it. I haven't been impressed. Then again, it's not really my cup of tea.
Yeah, that, Battleborn, and pc games like Dirty Bomb makes it seem like TF2 games are all the rage right now. I could see console gamers that don't have a multitude of games like that getting into it, though.
The new Battlefield game actually looks pretty good, I might actually buy a multiplayer shooter this year. The new Legend of Zelda is an open world game and you can apparently go directly to the final boss and beat the game right after starting it.
