So now that I'm not busy with college ball and college classes, I have decided I want to create an extension site for Rip City Two. I have talked before about creating a Rip City Two Podcast, but I was too busy during the school year to be able to do so. Now that I have some free time I plan to start one in a couple weeks, featuring anyone from the forum who's interested. However, I have also decided that I want to help extend this community into more than just a forum. Therefore, I think it'd be great if we had a simple site where the Podcast could be hosted, and where anyone from the forum could submit an article and have it posted (as long as it isn't utter BS). I think it'd be cool to have a column for whoever wants to contribute regularly, as well as a weekly mailbag. Other ideas would be a Cap Info section, where I would simply use @42N8Bounce 's info (with your permission), as well as posting dates and information in regards to upcoming forum events, all in an easy to navigate setting. I know I could develop and maintain this site easily, and if it's okay (@SlyPokerDog), and if others are interested in it, then I will do so.
I have been holding off on posting this because it's not quite ready to go public, but a few of us have been working on such a site for the past week. www.blazersland.com The site was built by Haak, who runs his own web development company. I have been working with TBPup and Slypokerdog on the concept, and the site is ready for content. We were hoping to have a few more articles written before going live, but since Bones is wanting to do something similar, I guess the time is now. Right now the site is hidden, but I'll see if I can get Haak to turn it on. We would love to get you involved Bones, as well as anyone else on the forum that wants to be a part of it. We're hoping people could contribute one article or story per week. The goal is not to compete with RC2, but to rival Blazersedge. Podcasts would obviously be something that we'd really like to do as well. Let me know if you're interested.
That's awesome, I'm definitely interested in contributing! Y'all will probably do a better job running something like that so I'm glad somebody finally decided to do something like this.
Because RC2 is a forum. It is designed for discussion. We want to create exclusive content and promote it around the web to other blazer fans. We want to be able to post videos directly to the front page, and podcasts. There's a reason why ESPN, and oregonlive and even blazers edge don't look like RC2.
...no, RIPCITYTWO has it's very own backlink at the top of the site (same with Rip City Clothing Co. and Blazers Tickets). This site is simply for articles and media, not forum threads.
...you have the right to surf the net any way you choose It's just like when anyone starts off a thread linking a different site's article.
Uh-oh--a couple spelling/word omission errors already spotted in TBPup's article. Does Blazersland need an editor?
This is farily importnant. In order to be takn serious in the spots world. Articles must read smoorthly.
Yea I think it would be cool to have a link at the bottom of each article to a specific forum thread about each piece.
...you can never have too many copy editors, message Nate if you are interested (I'm just the webmaster)
And I thought this was a thread about penis enlargement! Cool project guys. Will check it out when it's ready.
