Simmons. If he develops a jumper he's going to be a superstar. Ingram will be a good NBA player but I don't think his ceiling is as high.
I remember the Jordan -Bowie comparisons. Believe it or not....most people said, Jordan will be an all star, but Bowie could be special...... Not saying Ingram will be Jordan, but he is the safer bet IMO.
Simmons all day, and I'm guessing all 30 front offices agree. The only way you pass on him is if you have severe roster imbalance at his expected position, and you are also super high on Ingram.
I pick Ingram he can spread the floor better than Simmons. Yes if Simmons can hit the 3 yes he has superstar potential.
Ingram can defend and has a better attitude and work ethic than Simmons. Simmons jumper is so bad you might as well hope all your centers can develop jumpshots.
I would probably take Ingram because he is gonna get you buckets right away imo and once his body fully develops he will be a real force. Simmons seems like a guy you need to coddle.
Simmons has superstar potential but you would pick Ingram because he can spread the floor better? We're talking about the 76ers here.
A superstar what, SF? PF? If Michael-Carter Williams was a few inches taller he'd be Ben Simmons. And it's not like Simmons makes much use of his height. A superstar can do it any day against anybody. Simmons will only excel if he has a slower player on him. MCW is the best comparison. I could see Simmons having a rookie year like him, but puting up empty stats on bad shooting percentages. I also don't want Simmons as the face of my franchise because of his attitude
Simmons has court vision that can't be taught. He's will be special player if that jumper will develop. That being said, Ingram has a nice jumper and we've seen how huge a weapon that is for players like Melo and Durant. He's also a better defender and rebounder. I'd go Ingram personally.
