RIP. Another solid young person ripped away too young. Lotta talent. Solid heart.

Seemingly, by some total DB for no good reason. #parforthecourse

So sorry - I have to say I don't follow popular culture. It sounds terrible to say I'd never heard of her until she was killed.
Shit - her, John Lennon, Monica Seles. I recall an actress from the 90s whose name escapes me.

I mean, what is it with these so called fans? I know fan is shorthand for fanatic but for most of us that means wearing Blazers gear or screaming at a concert, not killing someone.

Any age is too young for a life to be taken, but ya, mental health is a tragic thing when left unattended

Mental health issues is the reason

Rebecca Schaeffer is the actress you are thinking of. She was actually from Eugene, if I remember correctly

There was a pop singer in Japan who was stabbed to death in the past month or so in a similar type of situation. Obsessed fan.

I wonder if getting her start on youtube had any effect in it? I read somewhere that one of the reasons why Justin Bieber has been so successful is because a lot of the girls who were fans, started out watching him on youtube, so it was almost like they felt like they knew him. They were invested in him. I could see some deranged guy developing feelings because he commented on one of her videos, or he said something to her on twitch and she was kind to him.

The internet age has given fans unprecedented access to celebrities, and I'm worried that we will continue to see more stories like this.

Its quite strange there are very few details that have been released on the killer, Kevin Loibl. No statements of people that knew him, friends, etc.

Tends to be par for the course.

But there are a lot of loners who don't kill people. There are a lot of nuts who wander around talking to themselves and don't kill people. It's not enough to be a nut. They have to be killers as well. And have the means to kill.

There's an entire generation of basement virgins who can't talk to women in person, so they seek out women online. Either through videos games, or twitch or youtube. I knew girls when I played wow who had some pretty scary stories about guys getting obsessive and creepy.

My half serious prediction of a movie shooting at that Warcraft movie is far less likely now that this psycho is dead.

I feel terrible for the poor girl, RIP.
