This is great news! What other constitutional rights can we take away without due process?

How about freedom of speech? These guys are evil and they shouldn't be allowed to think/say things that could be sympathetic towards terrorism.

How about the third amendment? We should just start housing soldiers in their establishments. That will keep them on the straight and narrow!

We've pretty much already burned the 4th amendment, so that one is a done deal. And actually the no-fly-list is pretty much a slap in the face to the sixth amendment, so we're really on a roll right now! Keep going guys! We have almost destroyed the bill of rights!

I guess you don't hear the same hear-say I do.

But in any case, it seem there was more than enough information out there for him to be investigated as being an enemy combatant.
However, no one fits that category as it stands right now. In addition, the FBI director admitted they backed off because he is a Muslim.
No doubt the AG had some effect here.

"Lynch made it clear that she shares those concerns, but vowed to use the DOJ to protect Muslims from discrimination and violence. Noting the rise in violence against Muslims and mosques in the wake of the Paris attacks, Lynch added that, “When we talk about the First amendment we [must] make it clear that actions predicated on violent talk are not American. They are not who we are, they are not what we do, and they will be prosecuted.”

I think we need to go even further, engage the Muslim community in this country (and perhaps others) that do want to see a reformation of the Muslim religion.
They do exist and and we should see if it is possible to work with the Muslim community on how to proceed to ferrite out those that would are supporters of ISIS or
    may become such.

In this country alone, I imagine they number in the thousands with probably none of them on the NO Fly list. This is far to probable to allow to work it's way
through to reality one incident at a time. This fellow should have been cut off first and many more should be before they can act. Even so the death toll
caused by those we do not short cut will be appalling. It already is! And there is no plan to change a thing, until Trump becomes President.

The keyboard on your teletype seems to be missing the period key.

Does it appear like commas instead of period on your screen? Like what you quoted. The quote is all commas including the copy/past of Lynch. But not on my screen of what I posted.
Any idea what is causing this?

So according to you he was telling people he was part of ISIL before ISIL started calling themselves ISIL.

The group first began referring to itself as the Islamic State (الدولة الإسلامية ad-Dawlah al-Islāmiyah) or IS[35] in June 2014, when it proclaimed itself to be a worldwide caliphate.

No periods at end of most of your sentences.

Looks like you need to hit return twice at the end of paragraphs.

What you see is what you get, when editing.

No dog, I am not the source of any information that I passed along. Apparently he also said he was of al-Qaeda.

Mateen became a person of interest to the FBI in May 2013 and July 2014. The 2013 investigation was opened after he made "inflammatory" comments to coworkers about having family connections to al-Qaeda and being a member of Hezbollah.[70] The 2014 investigation was opened after he was linked to Moner Mohammad Abu Salha, an American radical who traveled to Syria and committed a suicide bombing there. He was interviewed three times in connection with the investigations, which were both closed after producing nothing that appeared to warrant further investigation.[62][71][72]

As far as I can tell, none of that is illegal. Our country is not supposed to punish people who have not committed a crime. Our police can certainly target individuals that they think need to be watched, and if they witness him breaking the law, or potentially preparing to break the law, they can step in. But sympathizing is not illegal. Neither is claiming to have family connections.

I understand that people want to prevent things like this from happening, but we CAN NOT trample the constitution simply because we're scared. That would take us down a very dark and dangerous road.

The government knows the no fly list persons that buy guns. They can surveil these people all they want. That's not a violation of the bill of rights. Pesky thing, that bill of rights.
