Yeah, I just inevitably had to be the inevitable one to make said inevitable joke. Nothing you could do, it was inevitable, one inevitable way or the other.
Full disclosure, I listen to ESPN LA's Thompson and Trudell show nearly every day. Mychal is hilarious. He does color for Laker radio in addition to his own show and has longstanding Portland ties. I would not be disappointed with a Thompson hire either.
They didn't know when though. The only reason this happened now is because Seattle lost its stadium fight this year.
Have you read their contracts? If not, you don't know that. You have no idea if there were any kind of ratings incentives, or other conditions on their continued employment, early termination options, etc. In the end, no matter why they were fired, giving them a soft landing and honoring the financial terms of their contract was best for all involved. Any nastiness of finger pointing by either side would have made things worse for all involved. BNM
Oh get the fuck out of here with this bullshit. They were fired because the Blazers want to penetrate the Seattle market. Clear as fucking glass. They weren't given a "soft landing". They were blindsided.
I enjoyed his radio show with Kermit Washington back in the day. My ex-wife had no clue who they were, but she actually enjoyed their banter. BNM
No. The Seattle market is the primary objective. If you can't see that, I really can't do nothing for you man.
I don't think so. Terry Pegula owns both the Bills and Sabres in Buffalo, and Tom Benson owns both the Saints and Pelicans in New Orleans.
Then please stop trying. I don't buy your chicken little paranoia for one second. We now have a better, more skilled, more compelling, more professional play-by-play guy calling our games on TV. For me, as a fan of the Portland Trail Blazers, that's a win. It will increase my enjoyment of following my favorite team. BNM
