They know how to set odds to make people place sucker bets so they can build them fancy buildings

I would say that is about right. There really aren't that many serious contenders and they are still a 20-1 shot. I don't see any of the teams below them being much out of place although Miami could be higher is Bosh can play and Whiteside comes back.

Like MM said, they know how to set odds to get people to place bets. As far as predicting the results...remember last year's Vegas prediction about the Blazers?

I love that they rank teams that haven't even completed the draft or roster trades yet

They know that we were a Western Conference team that made it to the second round. The teams listed ahead of us are the other Western Conference 2nd round teams, the Eastern conference finals teams, and the team we beat in the first round.

Based on that, who's behind us that shouldn't be?

I don't gamble on the internet, but if I did, I'd throw down $20 on Boston at 35 to 1.

Making up for last season when they were the suckers?

But yeah, all those odds do is make sure bets on either side of the question are even.

These odds will change with each and every move. They do this every year with all sports. Odds are constantly changing. That's half the fun in betting. If they had Portland way lower, at this point, Vegas would be making a statement that Portland ain't making any moves to improve this year.

Yep. You know someone lost their job over that. Luckily for them, Portland isn't one of the top betted teams in sports

Maybe nobody lost their job, because as a reflection of what the betting public is thinking, it was probably pretty even. It was just obvious to Portland bettors that it was dumb. I wish I'd put my entire 401k on the over; even after the tax hit, it would have performed way better than the fucking market.

We're gonna sign someone, for sure. I hope it's a younger guy than Howard.

    Courtland (Go after Durant)
    then
    Abortland (Durant signs somewhere else)
    then
Sortland (Olshey with sort out all 136 of his contingency plans)
    then
Resortland (Where Olshey will be after landing Horford and trading for Jimmy Butler)
