not as crazy as woj bombs but this is the equivalent in the mike rice way. Found it interesting. Dropping rice knowledge. https://twitter.com/mikerice6/status/745846227871367170 https://twitter.com/mikerice6/status/745849455367327744 https://twitter.com/mikerice6/status/745850358719733761
I just read a bunch of his recent tweets. He's as engaged and energetic as ever. The thread title word "bombs" implies to older readers that his tweets are failing. I realize that nowadays, the word can mean something good, but I wish that word be taken out of the thread title. It made me expect a mean-spirited thread. He reminds us that July 1 will be crazy. Last year, that's when we got Aminu.
So far this thread is bombing out. Blazer fans like to get down on their former players, and worship the current players while waiting for the Golden Future. Sonic fans were the opposite. They always wished for their past players while disdaining the present. I like Rice (and Barrett), so I hope he never gets The Treatment around here.
I don't like the tone of Mike Rice's tweet. The "i-know-everything-but-cant-say-to-anybody" is a bit lame. How often did he broke news when he was in charge for two decades? Zero. Nada! He'd better appreciate the sympathy he got the last days and not lose it by tweeting too much, in my opinion.
If one loses respect for the wild one over the "tone" of a tweet, (which is something you cant hear in a tweet) then perhaps one needs to get thicker skin or quit looking for a reason to hate him. I heard mike rices voice more than my own dads voice growing up, ill always love that guy. He's quite obviously a huge fan. He was just booted from a job with little reason after 20 years of service but he still wants to talk blazers.
I didn't hate Mike Rice. Not at all. I can almost say I grew liking quite a lot. But I fear the bitterness of the end with the Blazers may cause him some trouble. And once again the "i-know-a-lot-but-have-nobody-to-tell-it" is so lame. Did he broke any signle news during his tenure?
Sun and south beach or cloudy and a chance of rain is Whiteside. If Neil can get him to go from sunny Miami to rainy Portland he'd be executive of the century. Not sure he's the answer, but likely who Rice thinks we're going after
I think Horford will be their first target too. He's less than a year younger than Howard, but has 300 less games under his belt (whatever that means), and you know how Stotts loves his big men to be good shooters.
I'm going to miss Mike Rice. They should have just gotten rid of Harvey and kept Rice. Or maybe keep in as a 2nd color commentator.
My bad on the title. I meant like how people use woj bomb when he drops an official trade or signing, big news, etc. it's like mike rices version. I love rice. Always wished he was my grandpa or something. I wish I knew whatever he knows about who we are going after in free agency. July 1st can't come quick enough
Between CJ and Dame following him on Twitter and Rice's cryptic tweets there seem to be more and more signs that we will go after Whiteside
I think we will try at whiteside. I hope at least. Wouldn't hurt. We need a big who can play defense and he's one of the best out there for that at the center position and is capable of learning a post game. Guess we will see. Dame wants us to make a run at durant but that's a waste of time in my opinion.
That was the conclusion to which @Taylor Danforth came yesterday as well, saying that there was no way someone like Howard would consider coming here if we were still a lottery team, but as a surprising 5-seed, we're much more attractive to prospective free agents. Of course, it won't have mattered if we don't actually sign someone worthwhile.
