Do the Blazers acquire a pick?

  1. A pick in the 20-30 range

  2. A pick in the 31-40 range

  3. A late 2nd rounder

  4. Paul Allen loves Draft Day and we get 2 picks

Maybe we can hoax Boston into giving us a first for the Irish Spring himself, Mr. Patrick Connaughton. He'd make an excellent mascot and hometown favorite for Boston.

If he's the guy we want, does it really matter if we move up to the first to get him? Lowest cost of acquisition is all that matters.

However, I imagine there are other guys that would be available in the late 20's who would be more valuable to us overall.

If we get into mid-late first round territory, there are far better prospects that I would hope he target. Cost of acquisition is one thing. Opportunity cost (of missing out on a better player) is far more important in my mind.

I'm saying it's going to be cheaper to get a late-first than an early-second rounder. I would certainly consider GPII with an early second rounder. He's higher on my board than most, but I've followed his career for 3-4 years now. He never focused on basketball until a few years back. The growth he has made has unbelievable. I expect him to have a serviceable career. I see him developing into a capable, high-energy #2.

He's not the only guy I'd consider drafting there, but he's one of them.

I wasn't talking mid-late. I'm talking solely late, end of first round. And I didn't say GPII was the only guy I wanted. I said there were a few people, only named GPII.

There are always guys that seem like great prospects and most flame out. The draft is a crap shoot at that point. Draft for what looks like the best potential at that point.

Makes sense, they are gonna need to lock up Adams soon, and they have Mitch McGary waiting for PT.

I'd hope Neil would give them a call but they're probably not to happy with him bumping the price on Kanter last summer.

I would love to get him. I don't think we have the pieces to get it done though. Doesn't say what they want in general (studs, picks, combination of both?) but I would think CJ and a crappy late 1st from us.

If it was 2 years ago sure. Ibaka has lost a step though and is now getting up there.

Juan Henangomez is my guy if we are in mid-late first. Aminu size and athleticism, better offensive skills. People have talked about his much improved shot recently.

Is that a signal that Durant is bailing?

"No Colonel Sanders, you're wrong!! There's more than 30 guys better than GP2. He's not worth any first round pick in any year ever!!"

Denzel Valentine and Taurean Prince are two other guys I could see us targeting.

Maybe more so they can afford to bring he, Westbrook and a 3rd star in?

We did them a favor with Kanter. He was going to get a max. Signing the offer last year with us, I believe, in the end, saved OKC money long-term.

I echo Rotoworld's thoughts on the matter

Still. If the price was right I would be in. It won't be though imo.

Not sure I get the need to mock?

DX has GP II at 52, and nbadraft.net has him at 44. I'm not alone in thinking that GP in the first round is pretty ludicrous.

lol, they overpaid Kanter, so now they're trying to dump Ibaka to sign Durant.

You may be right, OKC could've offered 5 years correct?

Ibaka is exactly the type of player we need. A good rim protector and can hit a jumper.

Trade plumlee or ed davis and clevelands 1st for him and a 2nd this year to take gp2 (if they have one, i dont have the order in front of me)
