All the more reason to go after Dwight Howard, as BlazerCaravan said there's lots of teenage runaways in Portland, and DH seems to like those.

Don't know if anyone answered this; they have capholds; Leonard about 7.7 million and Crabbe 2.7 million. Unless they are renounced, they count against the cap, when we are consdering signing free agents. They can be signed later for a lot more than their capholds and go over the cap.

So just to clarify, if we re-sign them for more than their capholds without renouncing them, do they still count against the cap, or do we just outright have to renounce them then re-sign them?

Me too, but it has been posted all over other forums/social media, so I thought it may as well be posted here too.

If we renounce them, they are free agents and anyone can sign them. If we subsequently did sign them; we would not be able to go over the cap to sign them. We can only go over the cap if they are still our restricted free agents. We would hope to sign someone else's free agent very quickly and then offer our restricted free agents or match offers that other teams make to them.

Miami was really no better than Portland this year, despite all their supposed star power. Maybe their center isn't really that good in a team game. His FT% is horrible, making him useless at crunch time.

Hit FT% improved quite a bit the second part of the year. He started out very poorly but in the playoffs he shot 60% and in the last 20 games of the regular season he shot 72% from the FT line. After coming back from his mid-season stretch where he missed 6 games, he shot 69% from the FT line. Not great but not bad for most big men.

I mean yeah you could worry about it but he is still really young. He can improve so much offensively and with his passing. His defense is what is insane. The numbers he puts up. That's why I believe he is our number 1 target, not Horford
