If some of you think Crabbe is a max player, after the season Aminu just had he'd be making double what he will be next year. What difference a year makes.

Both Aminu and Davis would be making double what they're making..... at least.

Davis yes, Aminu I'm not so sure. Has his stock gone up or down since last summer? I can see a pretty good argument being made for 'down' and a somewhat weak one for 'up'.

Aminu would get paid. Fairly good D, stepped it up in the playoffs and had success playing a stretch 4 at times.

Stepped it up in the playoffs? I remember them daring him to shoot because it was a major weakness in the offense. He lit it up a few games, making the percentages deceiving relative to his actual impact. If anything, I think the playoffs exposed him as being less valuable than he looked early in the season.

14.6 PPG while shooting 40% from 3 48% from 2 and getting 8.6 rebounds a game. He was infuriating at times when he was missing and passing up open shots but to say that the playoffs knocked his value down is completely wrong imo.

Aminu was obviously a key to our success. He was our third option on offense, and was our best two way player.

I was a fan of the signing when it happened, and I still am. He's going to continue to be a key player for us and I expect the outcome to be positive. He may not always be the starter, should we end up with a better talent, but that's true of just about every position outside of PG.

He's inconsistent. When he passes them up, it's for a reason--he's missing them. Also, he dribbles like a maniac.

I'm glad Aminu finally had some games where he hit shots but he did so when he was completely ignored due to shooting being his weakness. I still have very little idea if he can shoot with anyone within 10' of him and I'm fairly convinced he does not have much in terms of ball-handling or creating skills.

should the blazers have signed another mid tier guy (davis, aminu) long term last offseason? those types are going to be making 12MM per in the new cap reality.

Aminue is what he is and he did nothing in the playoffs that would have lowered his value. He was open for a reason and he hit 40% of his shots, yes it sucked when he would pass open 3's and he did that a lot even with him being timid he stepped it up in the playoffs and he kept up playing D regardless of how he was doing offensively. Aminu's is and has always been inconsistent offensively and his dribbling is worse then Mathews was as well as his ball handling skills being subpar, but these are all knocks that were already known about him when he was signed. Even for all of Aminu's weaknesses his play in the playoffs and last year was exactly what we wanted him to do and he did it.
I'm not sure how someone could watch Aminu play all of last year and think he is worth less then 8% of the cap which is roughly what he will be taking up once the new cap goes into place.

Aminu's overall shooting percentage misrepresents his offensive liability on a game to game basis. He's dared to shoot and occasionally gets quite hot, but he's being dared for a reason. Defenses know that plays to their advantage more games than not.

He started the season as a solid, potentially great, D-and-3 guy. He tried to morph into a 3-and-D guy and became a worse player as a result.

If Aminu was a free agent this summer, he'd be getting Harrison Fucking Barnes money. Why not? He played just as well as Barnes in the regular season, and has totally outplayed him in the playoffs two years in s row.

    Barnes Great Fit In Portland........

Aminu would be a guy people would be talking about in the 15-18m range for sure.

Whatever Kent Bazemore ends up getting I think is dang close to what Aminu would have gotten. And I expect Bazemore to make anywhere between 14 and 18 MIL a year.

That is probably about right but it's so tough to get used to someone like Bazemore making that type of money. Solid role-player/#6 guy but $14+ million staggers the mind.

Yeah 15m sounds about right. Maybe more. I'm fully expecting Crabbe and Harkless to fetch anywhere between 10-15 and neither had as consistent of a year as Aminu.

Aminu is the definition of an average NBA player.. However much that's worth, I don't know
