Dallas Mavericks - Bobby Marks Dallas is right at the cap and they need to weight their FA's with what is available on the market. Dirk will be back but Chandler Parsons is leaving which gives them $22M in cap space to go after Hassan Whiteside and may try to fill the SF hole with what is left on the FA market.
Dwight Howard - the market for him is a short-term deal and he may not even get the amount he opted out of. Would feel better with him than with Whiteside. Teams want him on a short deal and offer him a chance with a good team and a good atmosphere to rebuild his brand a bit and see if he can negotiate a longer deal. He needs to accept being a #3 option and accept what teams want him to play....especially a contending team. (Bobby Marks said he would only be comfortable with 2 years @ $15M a years.)
Sounds like Dwight is dangling out there and we could steal him, especially if we got his buddy Parsons.
Breaking News: Kent Bazemore will meet with the Rockets after saying he would wait till July 5th. The Rockets will make a big push for him and try to secure a deal.
Conley will meet with the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow during the day. Memphis thinks they can still keep him. Memphis is looking at Chandler Parsons after his meeting with Portland along with a couple of other SFs.
Chandler Parsons may get more than 1 max offer if he is cleared by medical staffs. He is at a great age, is at a Tier 1 max level and it will be up to medical staffs as much as the front offices.
Marks: Bazemore isn't worth the money he is going to get offered but you have to start looking at the dollars in terms of percentages of the cap and not dollars.
Knicks discussing a 4-year, $70M deal with Joakim Noah. That would end any discussion of Durant in NY.
