Bollocks. We were a ballhandler and a rim protector away from giving Golden State all they could handle in the playoffs. We might not have much of a chance, but we're better now than we were before landing Turner, and that's a good thing.
Mo fucking Harkless. We'd better re-sign Mo Harkless. If we pay Turner and let Harkless walk or trade him, I will become very, very frustrated.
You are assuming that landing Turner will have no repercussions on the guys who got you to face Golden State in the first place.
We've known for a long long time that the only way to improve a team is via trades or the draft. We missed out on the draft this year and didn't have enough assets to really negotiati a trade. Adding assets is huge for the Blazers then we can start making moves. Maybe not this summer but as the year progresses. Too many teams mortgage everything and come up short that's kinda where Houston is right now.
I am getting the feeling we renounce Leonard and land Biyombo, then match Crabbe and Harkless. Lillard McCollum / Crabbe Turner / Harkless Aminu / Davis Biyombo / Plumlee That's not a bad rotation. Defensively we get a lot better and we match up with GS and SA nicely.
Lots f teams who are capped out are talking about Durant and Wade and .... Having space to absorb contracts Varejao-style isn't horrible. Then again, neither is Gasol.
We got a player who almost single-handed lay won us two playoff games, and one of the best rebounders off the bench last year, yeah.
I agree with you. He's a classy guy and an NBA exec. of the first order. I like him a lot. He's just in an impossible situation. He deserves a lot better quite frankly.
That's not true at all. Last year we had Aminu, Harkless, Crabbe and Hendo. We'll now lose at minimum two of those guys and Turner is not a significant upgrade compared to what those guys gave us last year. And btw, yes they exceeded expectations last year, but if Chris Paul and Blake don't get injured we never play Golden State in the first place. And our health will almost certainly not be as good as it was last year. To improve we needed to add an impact player, that hasn't happened yet.
